After readingthe forum I got home and was troubleshooting had the infamous9 lights in standby. At one point had everything working againthen I hooked all my connections back up to normal and it stopped.I decided to go into self diag mode to take a look at what it wasshowing. | First 650 characters of this post | Based on what I've read here on the Agoraquest forums my seven year old Sony Wega KV-40XBR800 whose stand-by light is blinking seven times (sometimes only six times) is basically going to cost more to repair than what it is worth (it cost $2,849.99 in october of 2002). Does everyone agree? Is there a market for the 400 pound doorstop? I can't imagine trying to move it let alone ship it somewhere. | First 650 characters of this post | Looks like the lamp needs to be replaced. Has the lamp been replaced or would this be the first time. Usually what occurs for lamp replacement is the TV dies no video or sound after being turned on for 10 seconds to 2 minutes. But yours turns right back on after being turned off automatically which is odd. Normally after it dies, it starts a red blinking action. I think replacing the lamp will fix this issue. Also, replacing the lamp is very easy to do. It should take the technician less then 15 minutes to do. I can changed my for the 50WE610 in about 10 minutes. The hard part is r |

| First 650 characters of this post | This sounds like a not so uncommon problem reading some previous posts...My TV (Sony Wega 30Hs420) has been doing the 7 to 6 blinks. Primarly it will be 7, we might adjust something, i.e. we unplugged something that was in the power strip, then it went down to 6 blinks. Now back up to 7. It will just go off sporatically then start the blinking. From what I have read this doesn't sound good... but what steps can be made to remidiy the issue? Either my husband nor I are technical when it comes to TVs, so... any assistance given would be greatfull. Thank you!!! |

| First 650 characters of this post | Someone just gave me a 32 inch Sony Wega Trinitron KV-32fs120 that won't turn on. I was told if I can fix it, I can keep it.. so I thought I'd give it a shot. Right now, I'm trying to figure out what the blinking code is.. when I attempt to turn it on, it makes a click sound and the standby light blinks 5 times, pauses, and blinks 3 times. Anyone know what this means? I'm all up for buying parts if need be. But if it's going to cost a lot to fix it, I'd rather just buy a new tv. Thanks in advance!! |

| First 650 characters of this post | I recently got a sony wega from a family member. he said that it works but once i recieved it and turned it on the only thing that happened was a red blinking light that flashes constantly. there is no pauses like some of the other problems i've read about. i was also told that it might need a converter box but i can't seem to find one. the model i believe is a 1050. its the big one that has the clear glass casing around it flat plasma screen. if u know anything that can help me please respond thanks. |

When we try to turn the tv on, the timer/standby light flashes 7 times, pauses and repeates the 7 flashes again. We cannot even stop the television from blinking. It is indefinite. It worked fine last night but today it wont turn on. We have sound through the Bose system, but not the tv system. Any suggestions as to what my problem is and how to fix it? |

I have the Grand Wega Sony 60 inch SXRD for about a year and a half now. The TV went black and now the Lamp light is blinking. Seems simple just need to buy a new lamp. Its the 3 blinking red lights which mean that the lamp door is not secure. The last time this happened I noticed it was warped so after some hassle I was able to buy a replacement lamp door.
