| Television Troubleshooting | kdf-55wf655 lamp went out replaced still won't turn on. | LaGrew | 11 | 2009-11-06 19:42 | | First 650 characters of this post | hello all I seem to be having an issue with my sony 55wf655, I was watching TV last week and I heard a loud POP and the set turned off. I turned the TV back on and the lamp light came on so I ordered a new bulb and replaced that. Now when I go to turn on the TV the following happens. The power LED blinks green like normal startup.I hear a sound three times, I assume this is the ballast trying to light the lamp.after about 45 seconds the power LED turns red and the lamp light blinks red continously.Any help diagnosing this issue will be greatly appreciat | | Television Troubleshooting | KDF55WF655 short bulb life | lowtrack | 1 | 2009-10-01 21:41 | | First 650 characters of this post | Hi,everyone.I have a sony KDF55WF655.The last 3 bulbs have only lasted about 3months each. They have popped.Prior to replacing this last bulb i cleaned the fan made sure it was working and that it had no airflow restrictions. The 2 bulbs i had replaced prior to these 3 just went dim from use.(normal).My query is what would cause this to happen.I have the service manual it says there is a bulb driver.Does this driver act as a ballast? Is it located on a circuit board or is it a seperate componant? The last 3 bulbs have been phillips/osram replacement bulbs(xl2200u) are these bulbs by chance inferi | | Television Troubleshooting | white screen, thin vertical red, green, blue lines | Sunny1 | 6 | 2009-03-23 13:20 | | First 650 characters of this post | On 2009-03-21 19:00, jehill wrote: The "M<FONT size=1><FONT size=2>ulti-colored vertical lines across screen/KDF42WE655, KDF50WE655, KDF55WF655, KDF55XS955, KDF60WF655, KDF60XS955" information package listed in the "Television Troubleshooting Information Packages" thread in the "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum may help. My KDF-55WF655 (bought in 10/04) began doing the exact same thing. At first, only a few times a week, then a few times a day and now it\'s continuous. I also just noticed the 5 red blinking light code yesterday and talked to someone that mentioned that it could be the ballast but with a lamp replacement it would probably fix it. Of course Sony wouldn\'t tell me anything except to get it serviced. The guy I called wanted $550 plus parts PLUS $65/hr labor. My lamp, from Sony ($199), will arrive tomorrow.
