| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | STR-DB930 advice on caps that should be replaced | Maxxwire | 5 | 2013-05-24 20:15 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Geoff- The more frequent recapping of the equipment in your studio makes sense because at the most basic level replacement frequency depends on the capacitor's longevity under load as well as how many hours the equipment is used. I very highly recommend a dedicated supply of AC Powe for your Audio equipment to use originating at the main electrical panel in your home. What many people do not understand is that the most devastating source of AC Power contamination does not come from outside the Audio System, but rather from within it. |

Welcome to Agoraquest! Operation of the POWER/STANDBY indicator is explained on p-114 of the Operating Instructions. The explanation for the indicator flashing green is that, \"the lamp for the light source is ready to turn on\". Error messages are indicated by the indicator flashing red (indicates that set is in standby) n times, a pause, n times again, etc. If \"the lamp for the light source is ready to turn on\", that suggests that the next step is for the lamp driver (lamp power supply) to start up the lamp. You had to remove the lamp driver to |

| First 650 characters of this post | I really hope someone can help me out.I have soldering experience but not so much experience with TVs. I always wanted the Ferrari of CRTs the XBR800 and I got one last week. It's the 40 inches model but I knew it was defective. The tv would power on with cold boot, this means, hooking it up at the wall socket and powering it on but would not power on if you turn off and try to turn it on again. The error was the 6 blinks of death code. So this is related to IC8002 and IC8501.So after reading a lot online I swapped the ICs from brand n |

| First 650 characters of this post | The other day I came across some very useful information regarding the Ohno Hot Mold Continuous Casting method at the Atlas Cables website. After reading the piece I decided to share a redacted version of the article with you in this post because it makes such clear and informative statements concerning not only the nature of hot mold Ohno Continuous Casting, but also explains many of the advantages of using OCC Copper Cabling in High Resolution Audio Systems... |

Congratulations! You fixed it! Interestingly enough, this morning I woke up asking myself, \'When is the headphone relay supposed to be energized\"? According to p-23 of the Operating Instructions, you have to place the SPEAKERS selector in the OFF position to use the headphones, which suggests that\'s the only time RY503 is supposed to be energized. I recall seeing a lot of dust on the MAIN board. If the relay is not supposed to be energized, perhaps dust/contamination is shorting conductor 13 to another conductor that is energized, such as conductor 12 |
| Getting Started/Building a Home Theater | Sony SSX-90ED speakers | Spod | 3 | 2013-05-07 14:22 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi everyone,I've been lurking on the site for a little while now, as I've got a lovely pair of the legendary SSX-90ED speakers (walnut) and could really use some advice. In short, I got them extremely reasonably in about 2008 and was vaguely aware of the hype surrounding them. But....I'm a total, total newbie and was terrified that I might somehow hurt them as I have minimal knowledge and the rest of my equipment (amp/turntable/MD-player/CD-player/tuner) is so incredibly old and cheap. So, rather tragically, they have just been languishing in my ho |
