The series you are looking at had the following recorders which used the same firmware.
RDR-HX900
RDR-HX1000
RDR-GX300
RDR-GX700
The US manual will be no good as it does not contain any schematics.

I bought the RDR-GX300 (European, Zone 2) DVD recorder 2 years ago. I had no problem until now because I only used SCART Line 1 video output (either RVB or PAL composite video).
Recently I tried other outputs and I noticed that the Line 2 video outputs (both composite and s-video) and the component video out (YPbPr) didn\'t work at all. Nevertheless, the component output is activated in the system menu (and the RVB via SCART is disabled, as required by design).

The scart from the ntl box is connected to line 3 on bak of the dvd recorder (which is where it says that a decoder box shud b connected). A 2nd scart is then connected from the TV out scart on back of recorder to my tv.When the dvd recorder is off I have the ntl pic dislayed on my tv which shows that the loop must be right. I would appriciate your help on this:
Last week, I wanted to record a television show. I had not done that for some months. Although the recorder had been plugged in normally for all that time, all the channel-presets had gone.
I let the machine search for them, but it found nothing. Strange... because the television is connected to the cable through the DVD-recorder and works fine.
Yesterday, I went on trying to solve the problem. But now there is no output at all! The TV switches to the right SCART input, but the screen is blank.

| First 650 characters of this post | I own the RDR-GX300. When I owned a directv tivo receiver I could record from my sony 55 inch fine, with no problems. I recently upgraded to a directv high definition tivo and can\'t even get a picture to show. I get the audio but no picture. When playing a dvd it works fine. Is there something special about recording from a high def tuner? I have tried recording standard channels and high def channels but nothing works. Please help? |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello,I\'m trying to install my DVD recorder but for some reason I can\'t record. It worked on my other TV but not this TV. The TV I\'m using now is an older TV but I see no reason why it shouldn\'t work. I can watch DVDs by hitting the TV/Video button. When it changes to video I can watch DVDs but when I try to record it only shows a black screen. I followed the instructions in the booklet but it doesn\'t work.
