| First 650 characters of this post | Hi guys, I'm new here and having an issue with my Bravia KDL-40S4100, and was wondering if you guys could shed some light on the issue. When I power it on, I get video for about 3 seconds, and then goes black, the standby light then blinks 2x followed by a ~3 second pause and repeats. I have spoken to a friend who does some fixing of TV's and he thought it was probably the A or G board, but his distributors prices were insane. Last night the TV picture went off and the TV went to standby. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I powered up, the power light flashes green for a while and it sounds like I might have a bad fan. There is a noise like a fan trying to start up which happens about three times. | First 650 characters of this post | If power down you mean unloading the tape but not ejection from the transport then powering off with a display still showing something or a power standby light(if so equipped)those are ussually the result of a condesation sensor. if the tape is ejected as well then problems could be with the tape itself, transport sensors or control track issues. If it suts down with the tape still loaded in the transport then power problems coud be to blame. |

Try pressing the following buttons on the remote within a second of each other while the set is in standby (off with the remote): DISPLAY, Channel 5, VOL -, POWER. This will bring up the Self-diagnosis screen. Write down the information provided for any error with a number other than 000 after it. |

| First 650 characters of this post | I too have a KF-60DX100, but with a blinking problem.
My set will power on and then power off after 30 seconds. The LED standby light will flash 30 times and the cycle repeats itself. Same times, same intervals. I replaced the bulb in 2004 and double checked the lamp cover was secure.
I thought it might be the bulb again, but the fact my Lamp Indicator light is not blinking would lead me to believe it might be the lamp driver (so i\'ve read)??
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If so, count the number of blinks between pauses and post that number here. That\'s a diagnostic code.Also, a fairly common cause of Sony power on problems is one of the two MCZ3001D ICs on the D-Board.
