| DVD | known issue, dvp-ns999es power supply failure? | neiljadman | 11 | 2012-12-25 16:23 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Did anyone come up with a solution for this in the last couple of years? My power board just went out - one day working fine - the next locked in standby (red led) mode. Pushing the power button puts it in green led mode for a few seconds before the relay switches off again.Like the others C402 (1,500uF/26v) was fried I was hoping it was just that but no. My next suspect was IC101, which was also replaced - but no change in symptoms. I have also removed, tested and reftitted all the transistors, mosfets and diodes - all of which test OK. |

Your statement about the age of this thread was so clear and succinct that I felt warranted re-posting. The best part is that we've been able to benefit from jehill's contributions more often here at Agoraquest since he left Comcast who changed their name to Xfinity possibly because its just not the same without John Hill working there. |

| Off-topic | Op Amps different types? Does anyone know anything about them? | mykyll2727 | 23 | 2012-07-11 10:22 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Here's McGowan's next email. More history. He says tomorrow he'll explain an op-amp. I sure hope so. Part of the reason I've asked for others to pass on their knowledge to me is that Mcgowan has done things like this in the past. Unfortunately the info he provided left me wanting. The member's experiences would be of great help to me, and perhaps some others as well, in case he does it again._mykl |

| First 650 characters of this post | According to The Vintage Knob the Sony TA-F6B is quite High End...High-end DC intergated amp with ruler-flat frequency response up to 100Khz... but which looks like a nuts'n'bolts steel block.High-end because, inside, there is a PLPS - lots of power in a 12kg lightweight enclosure !The F6B is by necessity partly related to the pre-Esprit TA-N86B (same timeframe) and naturally to the lineup that replaced it (TA-F80 / F70 / F60) but was quite affordable (unlike the former) and built in 1970s fashion (unlike the latter).High-end because the attenuator is |

| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | Jukebox Zero Jitter Device | Maxxwire | 10 | 2012-04-27 16:45 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Its great to hear from you Richard! I asked myself the same question about reducing jitter and spent 10 years trying to find the best way of reducing it when I was using a Sony CX300 Megachanger to play my Music collection. The first thing I did was to an outboard Theta DAC, but the 1,000 picosecond jitter from the Megachanger was ruining any advantage the DAC might have and thus began my war on jitter over the S/PDIF interface using a traditional Digital Music Player as a Transport and here are the lengths I went to trying to straighten out the sound of my Megachanger using available Digital |
