| First 650 characters of this post | Hello all,New to the site, so sorry if I violate some courtesies. I have a Sony Trinitron KV-32XBR50 tv that was my parents. They bought it quite a while ago and just yesterday started having problems with it. Two nights ago my roommates wanted to watch a dvd, they used my PS2 hooked into the Video 1 input. He came to me the next day saying after a while the screen when black. I shrugged it off because I had just watched TV earlier on it. Well I was watching the Rockies and went to my room, came back and the screen w |

| First 650 characters of this post | Xbr800 series came out after xbr700 series. Xbr700 does not have DVI or HDMI which is a big issue now days considering all these upscaling, Blue ray players on the market. There is no DRC in xbr700 series either, so even for SD the xbr800s are a better sets. There are also some other image enhancements for HD sources that xbr700 series lack in comparison to xbr800 series like HD detailer and improved VSM. Also, the outside is a bit different between the two. Below are pictures of both models |

| First 650 characters of this post | I have a KV 27FS200 and when it turns on it will very briefly flash the picture then go black with no picture. When the picture does appear it is very blue but you can see the images through the blue. If the channel is changed the blue screen will stay on. I have the service manual and was leaning toward IC301 failure. Any thoughts on this problem before I start ordering parts and soldering? Thanks! |

| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to the forum. The model KV-27FV310 does not have any HD ports. It does however have two (2) component video inputs for connecting 480i sources, like a DVD player. HD ports are tuned for 720p/1080i sources, like a HD cablebox or BlueRay/HD-DVD player. What are you trying to connect to your Sony that's causing a split screen image to be displayed ? |

| Television Troubleshooting | Enabling 720p on KVHR36M31 (XBR910) Service Menu Adjustment - Please Help !!! | sk280 | 2 | 2007-08-24 00:10 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hello,
I\'m from Sydney, Australia and I have the Australian (Asian) version of KD34XBR910 which is called KVHR36M31. It supports 720p and 1080i via Component Inputs.
My set is one of the first sets made in Japan which I understand did not have 720p switched on in the service menu by default.
The symptoms: When I try to feed the TV a 720p signal, the video distorts for a second as if losing sync, then displays a blue blank screen with only Audio and No video. 576p/1080i works perfectly fine.
I also read that owners of this set, who had this exact problem, go |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello. Unfortunately my trusted 7 year old Wega KV-32FS16, BA5 chassis, manuf July 2000 decided to take a dive last night. We had left it on and went upstairs for awhile and when we came back down, the screen had changed to a blue screen with horizontal/slightly diagonal lines on it with the tv show picture as a ghost image, sound working fine, but standby light flashing 5 times and repeating. Changing channels/vid inputs sometimes brought picture back momentarily, however it immediately was flashing red colors and then would fade to all red before turning to the blue sc |

| First 650 characters of this post | First of all, I\'m an idiot when it comes to electronics troubleshooting...thank goodness for the internet.
I have a Sony Trinitron KV-34Hs510 HD, flat screen television, 2 years old.
This morning when I turned it on, every picture from every source (satellite, dvd, vcr, tivo, etc) is in black and white. Does anyone out there have any idea what has caused this out of the blue and, more importantly, what the fix may be??
Thanks so much.... |

If the readings on Q304 and Q306 are similar, but the readings on Q305 are significantly different, I would replace Q305. Replacement of the A board would be overkil |
