| First 650 characters of this post | I HAVE A KDF-E50A10 AND HAVE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT. I'VE HAD IT ABOUT 2 YEARS. IT STARTED TO SHUT OFF AND HAD 4 BLINKING RED LIGHTS? THAT WAS ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO. LAST WEEK IT HAPPENNED AGAIN. I READ FORUMS AND IT SUGGESTED TO CK FANS AND CLEAN OUT THE REAR OF TV. IT WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND NOW IT STARTS UP AND THEN SHUTS OFF WITH 4 BLINKING LIGHTS. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS!!!! |

| First 650 characters of this post | My KDF-E50A10 encountered a strange error. My PS3 is connected via HDMI since '06 it's been fine until now. Now I get no sound or image when I turn on my PS3. Connected my 360 via HDMI too and the games play fine and I tried playing a dvd with the 360 I get a 'HDCP' error pop up. Everything was fine until this happended. What happened? I did unplug the TV for 10 min. and plugged it back in, no change. I know staying on is not the worst problem to have, but being a member thought I would post. Any thoughts would be appreciated. | First 650 characters of this post | Hi I am have read errors on my BDP-S1. Sony support offers no information that I found on lens cleaning. Idid find this and was going to give it a go. My firmware has all been updated as of 2-2009. Steps 1 Turn Blu-ray player over and remove the edge screws holding the bottom plate onto the drive using a small Philip's head screwdriver. These screws are located opposite each other on the bottom edge and one has a metal piece attached. Remember to reattach the metal piece when replacing screws later. Step 2 Remove the bottom t |

In the mean time I have a insignia over the air tuner hooked up and ithas no problem at all tuning digital over the air. Mine is KDFE50A10 in the diagnostic menu the signal strength never goes above 41 on any channeland the gain is at 50%,if i use a amplified antenna i can get 38% gain but signal nevergoes above 41 on one chanel i know works i actually get zero signal Anyone come across this??? |

| First 650 characters of this post | Biggest most expensive mistake we have made buying a Sony TV thinking it was going to be a good deal because of the Sony reputation. We have a KDF-E50A10, had to replace the lamp within the first year at a cost of $200. Few months later the optical block started going bad. Blue blob in the middle of picture or purple/green haze creeping across screen. Sony refuses to acknowledge the problem even though there has already been a class action lawsuit on the optical block.Unfortunately not all models including ours was in the first suit. | First 650 characters of this post | Hello,Yesterday a tech came out and replaced the lamp on our 3 year old KDF-E50A10. Our lamp was not completely dead, just much dimmer. The first lamp he installed did not work (red light, no picture). He replaced that one with another, but had a great deal of difficulty getting our set to turn on after. He had to re-seat the lamp several times before it worked.He then went into the service menu, cleared the lamp time (which I expected) but then began screwing around with some of the other settings. When I unpacked the tv and plugged it in I got 3 solid lights. By the way it is a 220v model and I'm using a 250w step up. He called Sony tech support, and they told him the only thing they can do, with my model, is to replace the entire "optical unit"...for about 1000 USD w/ labor.
