| Television Troubleshooting | KDL32M300 Colors bad and slow refresh | BassDbler | 3 | 2009-09-16 14:11 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My LCD TV's image has gone darker (I think, the whites are still as bright as ever) and off balance. The image seems to have a lot more RED in it and the images are quite blurry (the menu is also showing the same symptoms, so it shouldn't be the source) and all inputs are the same... PS3 via HDMI, HD Cable box via component 1, etc. The audio is clear. It seems to be mostly like the tv is in slow motion... for example, if I am watching tennis, the ball would str |
| Television Troubleshooting | Sony KP-57WV600 Picture darkens. | korg1269 | 3 | 2009-09-13 11:52 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My Sony KP-57WV600 has a new problem. Every once in a while (Not all the time) the picture will start to darken, Like a red haze in the background, Also I noticed in the convergence menu the blue "box" around the crosses is real blurry, while the red and yellow are sharp.I've check this set a dozen times now and can't find a problem, I'm thinking the next step might be replacing the convergence IC's on the D board, Any ideas? |

| Television Troubleshooting | Sony KV-32HS510 after replacing the 2 D bord IC's bad picture | sporeda3 | 7 | 2009-02-21 15:23 |
| First 650 characters of this post | If anyone can help this would be great. Had the dreaded 6 and 7 flashing lights on my 300lb gorilla of a TV. (KV-32HS510) Would not turn on at all. No picture or sound. Read a lot of posts on Agoraquest (Excellent Site) about replacing the 2 IC's on the D board. Got the parts off of E-Bay and replace them. After replacing them with new sockets I turned on the TV and the set-up menu for channels came up!! I was extremely happy with the work I did and I figured the problem was fixed.&nb |

| First 650 characters of this post | Avia and Digital Video Essentials for BeginnersUsing Avia and Digital Video Essentials to calibrate your HDTV (Easy?)In the beginning there was analog television and we were so thrilled to have moving pictures and sound in the home, quality was irrelevant. Color was introduced and the awe continued. Broadcast standards emerged for contrast, brightness and eventually color, but in the end the individual TV set makers would always have to adjust for the capabilities of their newest analog displays and manufacturing design standards. | Television Troubleshooting | Sony KP-53HS10 | ellron | 3 | 2007-12-28 10:16 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have an older Sony KP-53HS10 that has been excellent over the last seven years. I experienced a slight problem the other day when I wanted to view some photos taken with a digital camera. I used video 2 from thefront of the TV for the source and part way through viewing the photos they became somewhat blurry. Regular TV viewing using cable produced the same results however when viewing TV through Video 5 where I input the signal from a digital HD box the picture is fine. The picture is also fine from Video 4 but is blurry through Video 1. Any thoughts on what |
| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | STR-DA90ESG is down (again), worth repairing? | fgrogan | 9 | 2007-08-22 11:54 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I hae a 10 year old STR-DA90ESG that has worked great until about 6 months ago (Feb 2007). In Feb, the sound just died one day and I sent it to Sony for repair for a flat rate of $250. Its worked fine since then, but late yesterday we noticed a strong electrical smell and the picture on the TV (Sony 53\" XBR rear projection) was blurry. I opened the door to the equipment rack and the smell was very strong as was the heat coming from the receiver. I unplugged everything to let it cool down. After about 30 min I plugged it back in and hoped for the best. The m |
| Television Troubleshooting | KE-50XS910 9-blink problem | Ucan | 2 | 2007-06-26 17:03 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,
Unfortunately I had to have this problem to find out about this great forum.
I tried to power up my 3 years old Sony Wega KE-50XS910 yesterday. I heard a loud \"click\" noise and no picture. When I try to power it up, for first 30 secs, I see totally blurry colors intermittently and then TV shuts down automatically. And there\'s intermittent 9-blinks on the stand by red LED.
Any idea about the cause of the problem? Any fix suggestions?
Thanks,
Ucan |

| First 650 characters of this post | Thanks for the comments John ~Actually in my friends house...He sits further away from the screen than I do here at home and I was pretty satisfied with it over there....We even measured a standard def program and found the picture to be 38\" which is 2\" larger than I\'m accustomed to on my Sony....I will only be sitting around 10-11 feet from the screen in my easy chair, however I do sit at my desk and view it when I\'m at the computer which is at the back of the room and it\'s about 17\' from the screen...My plan is to connect the computer to the bi |

| First 650 characters of this post | Bora, you\'re my hero!!!!!!! I found a workable source of \"white\" and attempted to correct the magenta ringing as specified by you. I ended up adjusting the default setting of 40 down to 25, and even though the end result isn\'t *perfect* it\'s damn near close.It\'s certainly at that point where I\'m no longer annoyed by the pinkish bar. The greenish bar seems not to have vanished as much though, but it was pretty faint to begin with and is not nearly as annoying. Also I can now see a very slight color impurity at |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,
I just got my Sony Tv and am having a ton of trouble getting it setup. I have the TV, Comcast HDTV cable box, Sony VCR, Ps2 and Sony DVD/Home Thearter combo unit.
I seem to have everything working ok, but the picture on the TV on regular cable channels is very blurry/pixelated. The HD channels look pretty good, but not as good as I would have thought. They look like the normal channels should look.
On DVD the picture looks pretty nice though.
Also, I cant get the cable remote to change the volume... it doesnt work for volume but everything els |

| First 650 characters of this post | Just got the Sony KDS-60A2000. This is the 60 inch model. The Hi Def pictures are really nice. I can\'t say the same about the non Hi Def channels. The vast majority are somewhat blurry, especially faces which are not sharp or really clear. I had a 30 inch Sony Trinitron and the faces and backround were much sharper. The picture is almost akin to when you tape a dvd on a very slow speed. This TV is connected using an HDMI cable from a Direct TV Hi Def box from satellite dish.Is this normal? What could be the cause of this, the picture size? Is there anything i can do to fix thi |

| Television Configuration | BLURRY KFE50A10 | stoovie | 7 | 2006-05-18 13:33 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I was wondering if anyone could help ... I bought a KFE50A10 last wekend and the central part of the screen appears blurry, especially on faster moving images. I changed from coax to to S Video for the link from the Sat box but there is little, if any, picture enhancement. However, the DVD plays pretty well (throught Video component link)though some wording also looks \'shadowy\', especially on the index pages for movies etc. I there something to set up that I am missing? I have read up on this screen door effect but would that apply to my problem here, or did I buy a dud? |
