Also, try the new Google Search which searches the entire Agoraquest website. Click here

For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesSpeaker settings on STR-DA7100ESjttar32009-11-18 22:13
First 650 characters of this postHello eldo472,My suggestion would be to set all speakers to small and then adjust your speakers and subwoofers cutoffs. Then use your test tone to adjust the levels of all speakers to as close as the same as possible. Set your sound level meter to \"C\" weighting and the response to \"slow\".Give it a listen and see how it sounds.joe
    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesSTR-DE495, speakers not working correctlyBoulder0832009-11-10 13:57
First 650 characters of this postHi all,I recently plugged my Sony STR-DE495 in after a year of almost full rest. Nowit seems that there is something wrong - when I use the test tone tosetup the volume levels, the test tone either is not audible for somespeakers or very quiet. After a while, the audio levels seem to reach anormal level except for the SL speaker. If I turn the receiver off and immediately backon, the same issue occurs. I also noticed that the center speakerstarts working when I tap the receiver case slightly, the same helps for the main speakers as well but not for the surround ones. The

First 650 characters of this postTo whom it may concern,   There is an extremely rare TA-N1 amp for sale on ebay. Item #110454443775. Also from the same seller a pair of extremely rare SS-M9EDs for sale. Item #110454753704. The seller says the amp is in good shape but the speakers are beat up. The super tweeters are crushed. He said these items were donated to a school and have been sitting around there for some years. Lucky school to have been given these very rare (and most expensive) members of Sony's reference SACD system. Too bad they didn't know what they had or least didn't appreciate them._Mykl

First 650 characters of this postI recently aquired a Sony KV-32TS36. It had no picture or sound and had the steadily blinking red light in front. I got lucky when I took the back cover off. I wiggled a bunch of components and found a three pronged black chip that was only making a connection to the board with one of them. I resoldered it and the set works great. The speakers were ratty so I hooked up a pair of speakers that I had laying around. The sound is fine too. I saw a couple of originals on E-Bay for under $20. The original speakers are only 5 watts and measure about 2 and a half inches by 5 and one eighth. There is a

First 650 characters of this postIt’s natural to assume that technology-initiator Sony would be amarket leader in the player category, though the widespreadimplementation of the PS3 might be a bit of a shock. For those whoweren’t swayed towards using a video game machine as a high-definitionunit, Sony also wedged into the mix with their BDP-S350 and S550 models– both of which are excellent players.  Naturally, Sony has followed uptheir previous line with the S360 and their step-up model reviewedhere, the S560.  As with their other players, Sony’s BDP-S560 naturallystand up against the company’s versatile P

Excellent components and speakers. I\'ll bet it sounds wonderful. Nice detailed pics of your stand dolly. looks like you could move a tank on it. Nice work, I love the way in is concealed from the front view. Thanks for taking the time to take and share the pictures of your Home Theater with us, it is appreciated.Joe

First 650 characters of this postHowdy from a newbie!  I just acquired this used receiver to upgrade from an older STR-DA835.  Everything works perfectly except I have to turn the volume way up to get the same output from my speakers (same ones used with the 835) and it's barely audible below about -50 db.  I cleared the memory to make sure there wasn't some setting I was missing, but it didn't make any difference.  I have to turn the volume up to 0 db to get the same volume as my 835 at about 50%, and can even turn it up to max +12 db w/o blowing my speakers (though it's close). &

    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesSTR-DE845 problem = power-up delayandycahn32009-10-24 13:10
First 650 characters of this postMy 8-year-old Sony STR-DE845 tuner has worked trouble free until yesterday. When I turn it on, it says it's on but it needs 30-45 minutes to warm up before I can hear anything from the speakers.  This happens with any of my devices as well as the internal radio.  I can see that it receives the signal from the cable box because of the 5.1 audio confirmation blue light.Everything works fine if I leave it on, but I'd rather not do that.Any ideas of what's wrong and how it can be fixed?
    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesA/V recievers in place of power-amps/pre-ampsredwing-nine52009-10-22 21:02
First 650 characters of this postThe better models of A/V receivers all are more than capable of reproducing music. The more channels the A/V receiver is pushing, the lower the WPC for each channel. For movies, it\'s no big deal, as it\'s not constant power needed. The Sony STR DA6400ES in two channel produces more than enough power for most speakers. If you run five channel, you can bi-amp the front channel speakers, which improves the sound. The take away is, current high end A/V receivers can easily rival separates, and can provide a synergy that is difficult to achieve with separates.
Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesSONY repair ceter broke the hinge on the front door (Oy!)redwing-nine172009-10-21 16:45
First 650 characters of this postIt\'s not nearly as bad a swap as you would think.  The 6400ES sonics are pretty darn good.  With the auto room calibration, D.L.L., the aability to bi amp the front speakers, support for both network and latest surrond formats, the 6400 is a fine piece.  It is certainly much BETTER than one would believe if going simply on reading specs as opposed to actual in house demostrations. The 7100ES faceplate was also damaged during this (albeit not that bad).  So, I\'m OK with this at the end of the day.
    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesKeeping My DA5ES but I Have some Questions ???ray77099242009-10-18 14:25
First 650 characters of this postSPCOOLIN, or anybody else who has this Mighty Machine,First of all thanks in advance for your time. I'm going to upgrade to a new Blue Ray DVD Player and I plan on using the 7.1 analog jacks for the sound from the player into the DA5ES.By doing that will I be able to hear the newer Dolby True HD and DTS on the Blue Ray Discs ? Also I see that I must use another AMP to power the Surround back speakers via the PRE-OUT jacks on the DA5ES. Question is what AMP do I need ? Please get me in the right direction as far as price and what I need. Nee

First 650 characters of this postWelcome to Agoraquest!  I would check C1424 and C1425 on the A board if you can find them.  They are 2200uF coupling capacitors for the outputs to the left and right speakers.  Other than that, you (or a friend) will need a copy of the service manual, an oscilloscope and the knowledge of how to use it to find the problem.

First 650 characters of this postI just received a STR DA6400ES from Sony as a replacement for a 7100ES that they were unable to fix. At first, I was disappointed to lose the 7100.  After receiving the 6400,  I thought the sound was a bit sterile at first, but after letting the unit burn in for awhile, and making some adjustments, the sound has opened up considerably. The fact that all the HDMI uses the H.A.T.S, along with D.L.L circuit, as well as the ability to bi-wire the front L/R speakers, all add up to some excellent sound from this unit. Comparing the sound betwee
