| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | Cost of repairing a receiver? | johnnyntro | 6 | 2006-08-11 16:35 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I\'b pretty sure I\'ve got a bad short in my STR-K502P receiver...I\'m getting the now famous \"Pop and Protect\" scenario. Its not the wires or the speakers, as I\'ve swapped/replaced those in every imaginable combination.I was wanting to know if it was better to get it fixed up, or bite the bullet and buy a new receiver, as electronics now seem like they\'re meant for replacement than reparation. Anybody have a guesstimate? |

| First 650 characters of this post | My son moved out of state and left me his STR-K502P, of which I have no clue how to operate. I did have a friend set up the speakers and wiring for me, connections, etc. When I play a DVD, nothing happens. There is no sound. I have a Sony VCR and DVD and Panasonic TV. (all fairly new) The coax cable from cable in the wall is going into my VCR. Is this correct? I have tried reading the manual twice and it is all chinese to me. (What can I say, I\'m not electronic savvy). The only thing I was able to figure out was to do the test tones, so I know all the speakers are working and hooked up |
