Recommended after display the search results. I would open the links in a new window. Read the postings and when done close the window. And open the next posting that you want to read in a new window, close that window and repeat. This is probably the most efficient way.

Also, try the new Google Search which searches the entire Agoraquest website. Click here

For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

That will give you an idea what others have experienced in terms of identified problems and solutions. Here's one example where the fix involved the replacement of two D-Board mounted MCZ3001D ICs:

First 650 characters of this postThat\'s a tough one. I just searched the internet and I was also unable to find a source for the board. You might want to check your local Craigslist.org for a non-working KV-36HS500 that might have working W-Board.  Sometimes people will just give them away just to have it hauled away.  More likely than not, these sets fail because of a bad D-Board and the W-Board should be fine.Good luck! How exactly was your W-Board damaged such that it\'s not repairable?

First 650 characters of this postWell, I can be added to the list of people who have fixed their set by replacing the two ICs (MCZ3001D - IC 6501 and 8001 on circuit board D).  I had the blink code that blinked either 6 or 7 times when the set was powered but had no picture or sound. I read the information that was posted.  I downloaded a service manual that contains full schematics and helpful information about discharging and disconnecting the CRT high voltage cap safely.  You can get to the service manual here:

First 650 characters of this postIn widescreen mode, that KV-36hs500 shrinks down to 32".  720p LCD panels that size are going for $600.  I would say anything over $400, place an ad on craigslist for a 200lb boat anchor.

First 650 characters of this postHello anyone.  I have the same problems as alot of people have with their Sony KV-36HS500.  My old Sony won't turn on.  I unplugged it and it turned on after a 4 hour unplug.  I left it on for 3 days and finally turned it off.  I immediately turned it back on, and it came back on.  I then turned it off and unplugged it all day.  When I got home 10 hours later, I plugged it in and it did not come on.  I am an electrician and would like to fix this myself. &nbs

First 650 characters of this postnaskarwcI am just surprised at this, as the purpose of my visit to the site today is exact same issue with same model (well almost) TV. Mine is  KV-36HS500.  I am in New York, too. But in the city.. :)Last night about 1:30 am I turned off the TV. I had been playing with PS3, playing Flow. I exited the game, turned off the TV and left PS3 on in order to complete some of my downloads. This morning I turned on the TV. It made the degauss noise as it always did, and then clicked a few times, then went dead.

First 650 characters of this postI have a 5 year old Sony KV-36HS500 that has been a great TV until the last week or so.  It started with having to turn the TV on twice to get a picture.  After a week or so it would not turn on at all.  It has a bink code of 6 blinks.  I tried unplugging it and it didn't help.  I am wondering if I should make an attempt to repair it or just discard it.  I have replace it with a new Plasma screen TV but My son would love to have it if I can get it working.I see solutions to the 6 blink issue here.  The solutions usuall

First 650 characters of this postHello all.Whew.  Don\'t know where to start.  I have a Sony KV-36HS500 about 5 years old...started out two weeks ago troubleshooting a 6 blink and 7 blink...dead tv problem.  After spending about an hour on the internet I realized that this is not a quick fix...this was my excuse to buy a real lcd flatscreen.  So I went out and bought a 46\" flat screen for the living room...and I love it.  Took this big dead 36 back to the guest room for future work.  Well, today was the day....all morning reading & reading & reading.  Thanks to all for
    Television Troubleshooting12V DC Fan cooling the D Board?BobF62007-11-13 23:07
First 650 characters of this postRa,Thanks for the information on adding a fan.  Let us know how that goes in case you install one.I don\'t know how the D-Board is laid out on your KV-36HS500, but on my KV-36XBR400 the MCZ3001D ICs are spread pretty far apart.  It might be difficult to cool both ICs with a single fan.  Also, the IC6501 location is surrounded by a fairly tall aluminum shield.  That would make cooling that IC more difficult. On the other forum, how did they come to the conclusion that the ICs were failing because of overheating?

First 650 characters of this postKV-36HS500I own a KV-36HS500 and I had owned one for years now and knowing that my TV was HD I decided to buy an XBOX360 and PS3 for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. For 3 days I have used these products and now there is a grainy-ness to the picture, with the picture having more noise then usual. I am worried and frustrated as the TV is HD and is having problems running HD products and that the overall quality of the TV\'s picture would be forever ruined. Please, I am in desperate need of help.

First 650 characters of this postI have a KV-36HS500 WEGA, TV was working fine in the morning, turned off the TV and now nothing. I tried unplugging the TV and when I pluged it back in I get a pop on the right side of the TV, when facing the TV. What I see is the Stand By light blinking. Does anyone know what 6 blinks and 7 blinks mean? Reason I ask it this way is because sometimes it blinks 6 times and then it starts to blink 7 times. Can I fix this myself? Thanks, Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First 650 characters of this postI have never regretted the purchase of my kv-36hs500. My wife hates it because it’s huge and sticks out from the wall 3\' or so.
