| Television Troubleshooting | TV will not power ON. | mbt_junkyard | 13 | 2013-02-21 06:37 |
| First 650 characters of this post | In CRT rear projection TV's there is a unit called "High-Voltage block", which makes the connection between the high-voltage transformer (flyback transformer) and the three picture tubes. Inside that block there are also two resistors present which form a voltage divider. The (low voltage) output of this devider has a known ratio to the value of the high voltage and can be used as input for the circuit that stabilizes the high voltage. Due to the presence of the resistors of the voltage div |

| First 650 characters of this post | For the KV32FS120, 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks, etc. means "IK (AKB)(white balance)" and the probable cause location listed is as follows:1. IC001 is faulty (M board)2. Screen (G2) is improperly adjustedThis is the starting point for a qualified service technician. |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32HV600 | pinehurst_gal | 7 | 2012-11-11 10:13 |
| First 650 characters of this post | We have a KV-32HV600 that's about 8 years old. We love the TV and have had no problems with it until about 2 weeks ago. It wouldn't turn on and started a series of blink codes. Several times we left it unplugged for a day and it turned on fine but now it won't turn on at all, even after leaving it unplugged for 3 days. We have had different blink codes over the last 2 weeks. It has been mostly 6 blinks or 7 blinks. On ocassion we have seen 5 blinks and this morning we've seen 4 blinks. We've looked at the information on what the different blink codes signify. Our concern is that since we've ha |
| Television Troubleshooting | KDL-32LL150 Life Expectancy? | EarlyAdopter | 4 | 2012-11-05 15:13 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My first flat screen, the KDL-32LL150 which I bought at Costco (made in Mexico) three years ago, recently and quite literally went on the blink. The picture has ghosts, jitters, flickers, etc. I called the 1-800-222-SONY support line and, after quite a bit of courteous banter and chit-chat, the rep said that my TV had a life expectancy of about three to four years. He mentioned dust intrusion as a possibility. Also, I may have bumped or jolted the unit but I can't recall. My faithful 1987 KV-20HFR had lasted for 20+ years but CRT and LCD |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32XBR400 - How to remove a D board completely from the chassis | MarkEnsminger | 4 | 2012-10-07 01:18 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have a KV-32XBR400, made in 1999 or 2000, that works quite nicely. However, it has developed the fairly common problem with the MCA3001D chip. I need to remove the D board completely from the chassis so that I can replace the chip.I have run into two problems. One, I cannot seem to remove the board from the chassis bottom. I think I have remove all of the screws. I have opened all of the swing connectors from the A board and have unplugged all of the other connectors. I have lifted the board on the left side (relat |
