| First 650 characters of this post | bonzo3671,You should be able to use any brand you wish, a DVI connection is a DVI connection. But, this may be just what you are looking for; have you heard of the Sony DHG-HDD500? It is a high-definition digital video recorder with a built-in HDTV tuner. Click here to check it out. The only thing is that it has an HDMI connection instead of the DVI connection, but all you would need is an HDMI to DVI cable. They have some for sale on eBay, and you can pr |
| Getting Started/Building a Home Theater | One Subwoofer or Two???? | Thumperama | 31 | 2006-03-15 17:53 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My wife and I both work for the same bank and we received our bonuses for 2005 last week (I know, took them long enough). So with our $$$ windfall, I took her out to look at televisions. We both fell in love with the Sony KDS-R60XBR1. The picture is amazing! I decided that the old A/V equipment just won\'t do the new TV justice, so I picked up a STR-DA7100ES receiver, a DVP-NS3100ES DVD player, a DHG-HDD500 DVR recorder and a RDR-VX515 DVD/VHS combo recorder. I\'ve still got my eye on a couple of other items, but decided that I\'ll wait until I get |
| Computers Configuration | VGX-LX1 Remote | Cmbmedic | 2 | 2005-12-03 21:27 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I purchased the VGX-XL1 (Digital Living System) and attempted to connect either my SAT-HD300 Satellite Reciever or my DHG-HDD500 Digitial Video Recorder (DVR) to the VGX-XL1A (Computer) via the cable connection (satellite) output or thru the RGB connections (DVR) outputs. The Windows 2005 Media Center Edition (MCE) can see the broadcast but I can not get either the DVD Remote or the Satellite remote to work with the VGX-XL1A computer. Both of the remotes use 50 as the frequency any suggestions? |

| Satellite Receiver/TiVo | Sony DHG-HDD500 DVR | Cmbmedic | 2 | 2005-09-10 23:01 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Everyone,Purchased the Sony DHG-HDD500 DVR this past week and being a cable card guy, I am waiting for a new cable card for the DVR. My service provider is Adelphia (which sucks but the only one around Spotsylvania County, Virginia). Initially, the DVR identified my cable feed having split the cable feed from my Sony KDF-55XS955 HDTV. I use a cable card in my Sony TV as well (do not interchange cablecards among Sony or any other Cablecard devices - they are unique for each piece of equipment). Adelphia is still using Cablecard 1.0 version - but I am demanding Ca |

| Satellite Receiver/TiVo | Sony HDTV HD recorders - Sony Style says "they're ready" | SergZak | 8 | 2005-06-22 23:21 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Both the DHG-HDD250 and the DHG-HDD500 are available NOW. I bought the DHG-HDD250 yesterday (Tues. June 21st )from Fry\'s Electronics here in the Los Angeles area (City of Industry store for those who know the area). They had both models but I opted for the HDD250 simply because I really don\'t need 60 hours (or ANY recording time at all) of HD recording ability (the $999.95 price wasn\'t too appealing either). One initial thing that irks me about the unit is that the hard disk NEVER spins down/turns off (at least in the couple of days it\'s been connected to AC) so there is a constant whine. |
