For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

Television TroubleshootingSONY KDF-55WF655 is it LAMP or LAMP Driver?reefer42009-11-17 03:07
First 650 characters of this postHello, I reported few weeks back about my sony blinking 30+ times every few hours, but now its going off every 15 sec for about 15-20 secs. SO i ran the diagnosis and see one in front of lamp driver. my tv is exactly 4 and half year old and lamp has 2366 hours (which seem low for amount of tv I watch). My question is , is there a way to check lamp driver before I go out to buy new lamp. any recommendations on sony or oem lamps. where to buy (is ebay good place?) I live in Canada and would prefer to buy from Toronto area but also willing to buy from states and have

Television TroubleshootingWe had a 5 blinking, 50WE610 TV and Sony offered us a replacement...LeighRacin32009-11-11 22:21
First 650 characters of this postHello,I too have the same TV and have the 5 blinking problems.  We had it repaired once already...under extended warranty.  Well, now out of warranty the only thing I can find help from Sony with is if we have a \"warped lamp door\".  I looked...we do not. However, could you let me know what problem you were having.....in case my tv also falls under that.  It is a 2004 KF-50WE610.Figured it was worth a try to look into this more...Thanks!

First 650 characters of this postHi All, I did a search for this trouble code but could not find it. The TV has been blinking 4 times in a roll. Before it shut down it said it was overheating and was going to shut down. I think I had this repaired before under warranty, but the warranty just ran out last month. Can you belive that. Can anyone offer any help in this repair? I think its the fan but not sure? Are there two fans and if I repair the

First 650 characters of this postHi, If it\'s power cycling where it\'s turning off and on it could be the ballast/lamp driver. I would clean out the back since it could be due to overheating. Continuously blinking is usually a lamp replacement. You could run the self diagnostic test that is in the Frequently Asked questions thread. I just saw another thread that I just responded to with the same model KDF46E2000 that had optical block issues.Sony will repair it for free until June 2010. Not entirely sure that this is the problem. However, you could call them and they will send a repair person t

First 650 characters of this postI also have the KF42WE610 and had the 5 blinking lights issue. I replaced the lamp for $100 about a month ago (before finding this forum) and the new lamp immediately fixed the issue. But now a month later the problem has come back. John, could you please send me the lamp driver replacement/troubleshooting document? Any idea why the new lamp fixed the problem but then it came back a month later? Thanks, Brett

First 650 characters of this postI have a KDL46v25L1 TV showing the red light blinking 4 times.  According to the manual I have a backlight failure.  I don't see anything in the manual that shows me a backlight.  I have the back cover off but no help.  Can you tell me what I need to replace and where it's located?  I'm new to the forum so any help will be appreciated. Television TroubleshootingWarranty with 3rd party questionShredda62009-11-02 11:55
First 650 characters of this postI recently started having issues with my KDF46E2000 (yellowish band near the top), and called Sony about it and they offered to replace the TV with a 46" Bravia S series for $400 CDN (which I took them up on their offer for). When I asked what to do with the old TV, they said I could dispose of it or do whatever I wished to with it. However, yesterday the old set also started to shutdown and power light started blinking in 3 blink intervals (on top of the yellow band at the top of the screen.) I switched the cooling option to high and it seems to have "fixed" things for now.  However
Television TroubleshootingDimensions of speakers from Sony TV- KDL-46S4100 ?1forrest122009-11-01 17:38
First 650 characters of this postI recently aquired a Sony KV-32TS36. It had no picture or sound and had the steadily blinking red light in front. I got lucky when I took the back cover off. I wiggled a bunch of components and found a three pronged black chip that was only making a connection to the board with one of them. I resoldered it and the set works great. The speakers were ratty so I hooked up a pair of speakers that I had laying around. The sound is fine too. I saw a couple of originals on E-Bay for under $20. The original speakers are only 5 watts and measure about 2 and a half inches by 5 and one eighth. There is a

First 650 characters of this postI recently was given a Sony kv34xbr910.  It has the intermittent blinking 6-7 light problem that I have been reading about, so I am going to replace the two mcz3100d IC's.  The set works if I unplug it for several hours and plug it back in.  I took out the D board, and the replacement of the IC's looks doable.  I have some soldering experience, and I have found enough info. to help me out.  Here is the first question.  Should I use an 18-pin socket or not?  I have seen both pro and con arguments, and I do not know what to do

First 650 characters of this postThanks jehill.  Before you left your response, I was able to get a hold of an authorized Sony repairman about 30 miles away (my local guy was clueless).  He explained to me that even though I replaced the light 6 mos ago, the symptoms that I was having were in line with a bulb that was bad, but not blown.  He told me that he had just fixed one last week with the same symptoms.  He explained to me that when a bulb first "ignites", that it gets a huge shot of volts (I think he said something like 14,000) and once it gets going (5-10 seconds later), the dri

First 650 characters of this postI too have a KF-60DX100, but with a blinking problem. My set will power on and then power off after 30 seconds. The LED standby light will flash 30 times and the cycle repeats itself. Same times, same intervals. I replaced the bulb in 2004 and double checked the lamp cover was secure. I thought it might be the bulb again, but the fact my Lamp Indicator light is not blinking would lead me to believe it might be the lamp driver (so i\'ve read)?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ST22
Television TroubleshootingKDF-60WF655 picture coming in and out, with the standby light blinkingL8niter52009-10-19 17:09
First 650 characters of this postHey Everyone,I have a 4 year old 60WF655 and a few days ago the picture cut out and the standby light started blinking. The picture came back on in about a minute, only to last 30 seconds and then it blacked out and the standby light began blinking again. I saw that it is a common problem on this sight so I ordered both the lamp driver (which is backordered 2 weeks) and the lamp which I should have any day now. Does anyone have any instructions on how to change the lamp driver?

First 650 characters of this postHi All I have the above problem and was seeking some advice. The TV is 2 years old and has been fine until yesterday. I have read the codes and am slightly confused as some places say Backlight and others V STOP? I have done some Fault finding. I dont think my LCD Screen is at fault as when I disconnect it I get the same fault code. I dont think it is the Inverter Board (PCB2676/7) as when I disconnect that either at output or input I get the same fault. I do not think it is the LVDS Board (400HSC4LV2) as I also get the same fault.
