I bought the Sony KV-27FS13 over the weekend and wanted some advice on configuring my system.

I am curious what is the best way to hookup the tv to my vcr and digital cable box in order to get the best picture possible. Currently, I am running coax cable from the cable box to the vcr and the vcr to the tv. Also, I am using monster cables to run from the cable box to the tv using one of the A/V inputs.

However, I am wondering if I would get a better picture if I eliminated the coax cable and went from the vcr to the tv and the cable box to the tv separately. Besides a better picture, isn't it redundant to have both the monster cable and the coax cable running to the tv?

Also, is there any way to setup the tv to know that I am only using some of the inputs, rather than having to cycle through all four?

    Thanks for the help!
    Chris

I also have a 27FS13 with a Sony VCR. I tried both coax all the way thru the VCR to the TV and composite from the VCR to the TV. I found almost no difference. This is probably because the cable/VCR signals are crap to begin with (as compared to the quality of the TV. DVD has spoiled me.) I would avoid routing any video thru the AV receiver. Why add more connections to screw up the signal? As to your second question, I haven't found any way to skip over unused video inputs. You'll have to cycle thru all of them.
