Hello,
I've just got a Sony SAT-B3 receiver with the HU card. But I couldn't get it work. There's always a message displayed on the TV screen that " searching for a satellite" . When I accessed into the menu of the receiver and do the "antena test", "system test", They all failed. ONly the phone line and the card passed the test.
I just wonder any one has the same experience and know how to solve prob. Please help me out.
The satellite disc is previously installed by the professional and been working well from the pre-owner of the house. So I don't think there's any problem with the the disc aiming
Thanks

Two possibilities:
1. The dish is mis-aligned. Are you sure the previous owner had DirecTV and DishNetwork? They're aimed at different satellites. You want your dish aimed at DirecTV's 101-deg satellite. You'll find aiming and installation information at DirecTV's web site.
2. Your SAT-B3 receiver is defective. Can you take it to a friends house, or a dealer with DirecTV and connect to their satellite? That will tell you that the receiver is working.
My bet is on #1. If you're convinced that the dish is aimed correctly, be sure to doublecheck ALL of the connections. It's possible something is loose or corroded and not making good contact.
Good luck.
