     Has anyone got the latest Region2 DAV-S550 firmware update CD from Sony and could please make it available on the 'net ?
    It's surely no good to see Sony not putting the latest available automatic CD firmware updaters available online as ISO image for power users that would like to get the latest fixes.
    I checked the first Service Menu page on my DAV-S550 unit and it has firmware 1.07 that I think it's way old, isn't it ?

    I would have liked to buy a region free unit but my father bought it as a present for me while I was in another town so...

    At least I'd like to get the latest firmware installed. Is Sony support center so burocratic that it would be almost impossible to get the latest firmware update CD from them or not?

    If there are any Sony employees posting on these forums in their spare time or supporting this website, could they please allow users to share the latest firmware updates ISOs for all those Sony units that can be auto updated ? Unless Sony would do the right thing and put the CD ISOs officially online to let customers get the latest fixes as it should be...

    It's really sad to see Sony failing on giving customers some real support and denying bugs and issues.

    Also, do newer DAV-S550 firmware releases support VCDs and SVCDs menus or not ? My unit surely doesn't support them.
