Let's face it, since the demise of the CRT TV the current models are still trying to reach that last piece of the holy grail for overall picture quality - Black Level.

I didn't know those things about Pio. I'm happy to be updated. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes displays to reach the "grail" of black at a consumer friendly price._mykl

For my eyes plasma still has the best "blacks". Panny and Samsung lead the way. The article did provoke a thought though, what happened to OLED??

Production costs are still too high and yield rates too low for large OLED TVs according to this article. Sony released the first 11" OLED (XEL-1) awhile back for $2500, and it wasn't even high-def @ 576p.
You want OLED at it's best, click here. Just remember it costs to be the boss.

Nighthawk_Ditto for me on the link.
I'm sure the price will drop down in time and as they look to the consumer market. At the rate TV/video technology is advancing they'll probably have come out with the next "big thing". Then, if they don't abandon OLED, the prices will really drop. But at present prices I'd have to hit Megabucks to afford it. Which is probably never going to happen since I don't play. Can't afford it.LOL_mykl
