I have a sony, model kp-51ws520 that comes on and then goes off. It's giving me a blink code 10, pauses and then blinking 10 times, etc.... This started about a month ago and is getting worst. Anyone had this problem before?

Welcome to Agoraquest! For the KP51WS520, 10 blinks, pause, 10 blinks, etc. means "HV Protection" and the probable cause locations listed are as follows:
1. Q8014 or Q8013 has shorted replace along with R8051 on D board. 2. IC8005 is damaged (D board)
These are starting points for a qualified service technician.

Its up to you. If you want to save money, replace the parts. Otherwise, purchase and install a new D board. Suggest that you go to www.tristatemodule.com for board.

I currently am having the 10 blink issue on my KP-51WS520, is it easier just to replace the entire D board? or should I just replace the 2 transistors 1 Integrated circuit and the resistor that you speak of?

My KP51ws520 was giving the 10 blink code also. I replaced the (4) parts on the D board as suggested and it worked fine for one day. Then 10 blinks again. I used Sony brand parts. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Well, now it is my turn. Just this afternoon my Sony rear projection (KP51WS520) is giving me the 10 blinks on the standby button. I unplugged the TV from the power bar and plugged back in and when I turned the TV back on I will get sound for a few seconds but no picture and then I hear the TV click off and I get the 10 blinks. I tried unplugging a few times and gave up as it kept on 10 blinking. I also took off the back panel and blew out the dust and that did not help either. After searching around on the internet, I came across this forum and it seems the problem I have is the D board. I do want to get it replaced and I was wondering if anybody could please tell me how much they think it should cost. I am in Minnesota. I did find the D board P/N A-1054-155-A at a place on the web for $111. Is it easy to replace this board? I have never repaired or worked on a TV before but was wondering if I can replace the board on my own? Thanks, Steve

Welcome to Agoraquest! I would check with www.tristatemodule.com. They supply rebuilt boards and may take your board in exchange. They have a good reputation and probably can give you tips for removing the board.
