Hello all, First let me say, this website has been a WEALTH of information. I've never been more willing to donate $$$ to a site like I did this one. I have a KF-60WE610 Wega TV. Manufacture date is 3/2004, purchase date is 6/15/2004. I had the optical block replaced under extended sony warranty in 6/2008. Now the issue: I have the dreaded 6 blink issue. It started shortly after I replaced the lamp in the TV. First I just needed to hit the power button a 2nd time, then it was 2 times.... then 4.... then 8.... now it's up to about 25 and I'm getting desperate. Once the TV turns on, it has no issues and has a solid picture until I decide to turn it off. Once I turn it off, I can turn it back on again, no problem. Seems like it needs to be quite warm for it to work. I've throughly checked the plastic surrounding the lamp and can find no warpage. The fans have some dust, but nothing outrageous. The TV sits on a platform, open to the room, with plenty of ventilation room around it. The fan that pulls out the back of the TV is working, as is the smaller fan that sits above the lamp mount (at and angle). I'm unsure as how to check the status of the centrifugal fan. The only real issue I can see is a small hairline crack in the metal surround on the optics face where the lamp seats against. I'll see if I can get some photos tonight. After forum research, it looks like it could possibly be the thermal fuse. My question is this; Could I possibly get this covered under the warped door warranty issue? It does get quite hot, and I see the 'service pack' provided to reps for repair includes the bi-thermal switch. What do you folks think? -jared

Ah, I realized that my 2004 model KF60WE610 wasn't covered by the warranty fix. I went ahead and bought the WE service kit. I'll take photos of the install when it comes in.

Well, the install of the service kit as a bust. I did the install as instructed, with no issues. Got the thing put back together, hit the button and 6 blink condition remains. I did notice, with the plastic cover off the back, that when I hit the power button, a relay or something clicks on the board that the power cord plugs into. The green lights flashes, then the board clicks again the the 6 red blinks come on. Now, I'm 95% sure the clicking is coming from that power cord board, but it could be some other board in the area. I've attached a photo, its the board the cord comes into at the bottom.
Any ideas?

Sorry about the image size. I've narrowed it down; in this photo, its the bottom of the two identical relays that is clicking.

Probably your best bet at this point it to replace the G1 board. That's the board that you photographed.

Just wanted to wrap this post up:
While I do believe I started with a bad thermal fuse condition, once replaced, I started getting the relay click on the G1 board. I went ahead and replaced it and now the TV works like a charm.
Thanks Jehill and Agoraquest, couldn't have done it without you!
