I need help from any, and all audio magicians in this forum to give me some advice on how to basically hook up 2 AV receivers, so that I can switch to either one of them, when I feel the need to. You can consider this as a little bit of alchemy. I L-O-V-E the sonic signature of each of my amplifiers. I have 1 audio cabinet on each side of my TV. The idea of buying 2 audio cabinets, basically was to make my HT look more congruous, and to bring all of my vintage components into 1 room. I don't know if they make any audio switchers to facillitate this. I know they make speaker switchers, but I don't need that. If they do make audio switchers for amplifiers alone, would I have to one that's loads each amp in series or parallel? The wattagge of the Pioneer VSTX-24 is 90 watts per chanell, while the load of the STR-DA3000ES is 150 watts per. Any and all help is appreciated.

Jusbegood- You are running a pair of '74 ESS Heil AMT 3's and another pair of '74 ESS Heil AMT 4 speakers! Fantastic!

Please give us some more detail on exactly how you want these wonderful vintage speakers to interface with your Pioneer and Sony Receivers to give you the results you desire because it seems to me that if you want to run any of the speakers off of two different Receivers at different times then you will need some kind of a speaker switch.

The speakers are permanently fixed in place. The AMT3's are my main speakers. I drilled a few holes into my floor, (via my basement) to run the speaker  wires of the AMT4's to the left audio cabinet. which houses the STR-DA3000. This configuration gives me the surround sound that I need. In the other audio cabinet I have my other Pioneer amps. and other various audio components.  I've contemplated on having the STR-DA3000 as the main controller of my HT system. I don't want or need a speaker switcher. I just want to be able to listen to either amp, whenever my "flava" hearing buds need a change. The reason I mentioned an audio switcher, is just that. When you go into an audio retailer's store they have a myriad number of amplifiers for you to listen to. They sell those type of switchers to retailers only. I haven't heard of anybody yet selling what I need to the general public. If they do sell them to the public, I'm not willing to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house to accomplish what I need. If they make or sell one, I would also need to know if I would need an unbalanced or balanced audio switcher to facilitate the configuration; and why?

Problem with using the 3000 as the main controller is you would need to run thru it as I envision...and it would add it's Sonic "Flava" to what you have become accustomed to with your other units.....

Depending on how many sources you want to switch...what you propose may be tough without the type switcher you mention...and even then I believe the audio retailers only use one source...No ?

I suppose you could DIY build one strictly for your application with manual switches or relays....
It would certainly require some research....and could get expensive as a one off...

It took me less than 30 seconds to find this product when I Googled "speaker switches".  The product appears to connect two speakers to a default "A" amp and switch to a "B" amp when the "B" input level exceeds an adjustable set-point.  Clever!

Looks like a great product John...

That takes care of two receivers but he still has a third as I count...Two Sony's, and a Pioneer...One being 5.1 which may not matter much if he shuts it off for two channel listening....

And I guess he could split the inputs with splitters before going to the different receivers...or if he just wants to split analog CD player output to the two analog receivers, and still run toslink or digital coax to the DA3000ES...he could do that...but he would need the same switch with three inputs...one for each receiver...and I'm not sure how they would sense that automatically.....or which on would then take priority....
