The Sony str-db2000, has anyone here heard or own this 6 channel amp?
The reason im asking is my darling children decided it would be fun to poor juice in the top of my str1080, this fried it and my insurance company are sending me the 2000 as a direct replacement..
So how is it?? i used my old amp for mainly home cinema, but i also listened to music through it to. it will be pushing Mission m series speakers.
Any Advice input info would be greatly appreciated....

Welcome to Agoraquest! I haven't heard or owned it, but I don't recall reading anything too negative about it here on Agoraquest. The biggest compliant is probably an apparent lack of power, because you may have to turn the volume higher than you are accustomed to get the same volume as before. You might try doing an Agoraquest Search for "strdb200" and doing a little reading. Its essentially the same as the STR-DA2000ES, but has a single rear surround channel instead of two. I think that you will be happy with it.

I know Duncan bought his DB 2000QS early on instead of the DB 1080QS and he just loves his Digital Receiver.
You might try sending him a PM from your Inbox and asking him a few questions about his 1 1/2 years of ownership experience with the DB 2000QS.
