Hey guys. I recently got my Tivo in the mail, and really don't have the time to fully set it up since I will be hopefully moving by years end.
What I wanted to know is if there was a way to set the Tivo up so it can record another channel while you watch something else. It's annoying that it will change the channel on you in the middle of a show.
Is the only way to do this to split the signal? I'll be getting digital cable, but I'm not sure how strong the signal strength will be and don't want it to degrade from the split. I've heard of people having amplifiers. Is that something I would need to purchase on my own, or would the cable company provide that?
Thanks for any help! I don't have time to do further research on my own due to the hecticness (yes I made that word up) around here with building a house and the builder keeps telling me a different story each and every time.
