Sony Television: Sony announces slew of new 3D HDTV with stunning Monolithic design
Posted by claudio on Tuesday, March 09, 2010 @ 22:14:59 CST (129 reads)
Sony Television Bravia LCD Of particular interest are the four models that make up the LX900 series. These come equipped with Sony’s new “Intelligent People Sensors’. What these clever camera sensors do is to actively adjust the viewing experience based on the viewing environment. The television will identify the location of the viewers and direct the sound out towards the viewer’s location. Furthermore the television’s brightness will be automatically adjusted based on the viewer’s position; if their head is tilted downwards, for example when reading a book or magazine, the screen will dim. When no viewers are detected the television will shut off, a welcome energy saving feature. This new technology has one more trick up its sleeve; the ability to punish naughty children…well almost – when the television detects a child is sitting too close to the screen a message will appear notifying the child they should move backwards to continue watching…when the child is a suitable distance away the message will disappear allowing the child to continue their viewing.

Sony Television Bravia LCD Sony has joined the hunt for 3D dollars.

The Japanese electronics conglomerate announced Tuesday that it will launch a line of televisions in Japan in June, with other countries soon to follow.

The cost for early adaptation is steep. Forty-six inch and 40 inch Bravia flatscreen sets will sell $3,875 and $3,200 respectively, $1,000 more than their non-3D equivalent sets. Each TV comes with two pairs of 3D specs. Fifty two inch and 60 inch televisions will hit stores a month later, and will cost nearly double that of the smaller sets.

Sony Television: Sony's New 3-D TV Warns Kids If They're Too Close
Posted by claudio on Tuesday, March 09, 2010 @ 21:04:23 CST (108 reads)
Sony Television Bravia LCD For parents tired of nagging their kids about sitting too close to the television, Sony says its new 3-D television will do it for you.

A camera sensor built into the television’s bottom bezel, just below the Sony logo, detects if a child comes within one meter, or about 40 inches. After a couple of seconds, an alarm is triggered and the screen will go dark, displaying a message telling the child to back away.

Speaking at Marketing Week´s Social Media for Brand Building event, Nick Sharples, Sony head of corporate communications, said the company sees Twitter as a viable sales platform.

He noted that social media should be used alongside traditional channels.
