I received my 57HW40 about three weeks ago. I am tired of my kids cat knocking the SAT receiver and Center Speaker off the top. Are there any articles that describe some different options for mounting a center speaker/shelf on top. Also, what is the recommend time to wait to have the TV professionally calibrated? Thanks for the help.

jcv,
log onto www.improvementscatalog.com and type in item #191635 in the search box. This is a shelf that is designed to allow you to mount accessories on top of your TV. It's called a "TV top shelf organizer"-it comes as a single or two-tier model. I used it to mount a receiver on top of a smaller TV, but i think it may work for you if what you're looking for is a wider base to set your center channel speaker on. I've read you should break in your RPtv for at least 100 hours before getting ISF calibration. Maybe 500 hours would be even better??

Hi jcv,
I just bought the same TV used. I currently have my center channel sitting on the top. But the top area really isn't wide enough for the speaker. I'm thinking of putting velco fasteners on the speaker and TV or built a small wood platform for it.
