I can't believe there's not any threads on the Sony Digital Readers!

I just received Sony's new ebook reader this past Friday.  It's an awesome piece of hardware.  I will be going to visit family in the Caribbean next month and I plan to take over 50 books which would not have been possible without an ebook reader.  I got a subscription to the New York Times and every morning all I have to do is turn on the 3Gand it download automatically!  If you love to read or you know someone else that does, I highly recommend the PRS-900!  There's a Sony Reader forum where there's deals, tech support, reviews, where to buy books, pictures, etc.  It's all about the Sony Digital Readers if anyone is interested in one of these babies (Sony has 3 type of digital readers on the market, the PRS-900 is their high end)!  The forum is located here: http://sonyreaderboards.com
It's new and made by Sony reader owners.

Here it is!

Hello victory1,

Greetings and welcome.
Glad to hear how happy you are with your Ebook Reader. Going on vacation and bringing your reading material with you is the perfect use of this type of electronic hardware.

Thanks for the link to the Sony Reader forum.

Thank you for the welcome!  I'm surprise there was not even 1 thread about Sony's Digital Readers, at least I could not pull any by my search.  I LOVE this thing.  I don't know what took me so long to buy one of these.  I read a lot and I'm embarrassed to say what kind of fluff I read sometimes! The privacy alone makes worth it (people are not starring at my book cover)!  I've been eying these things for a while but I did not think I would enjoy them as much as a real book, but I learn I like this way better then a book.  The font adjustment alone makes me happy.

Bought my wife the smaller Sony Reader like yours when it first came out about three years ago.  It's been a great traveling companion for my wife.

Reads books while listening to MP3 files on the airplane.

Buy the 'noise canceling and powered' set of ear buds by Sony and you will be delighted at the results.  ESPECIALLY traveling for any length of time.  They cost $100 but the wife said they are worth every penny.

I like the fact that it can be recharged via a USB port OR via the wall plug adapter.

Because we have had hers for so long and Sony just recently announced that they were converting over to the new 'EPub' format, we had to send hers back in to have a firmware upgrade.

Long story short, the firmware upgrade didn't 'take' on her machine.  So after speaking with me (and I to my wife), they sent a replacement.

Now, don't get me wrong.  It's a refurbished Sony Reader.  But it was 'A' stock refurb and it is the newer Reader Touch Screen PRs-600.

The wife is just tickled.  So I'm happy.

She goes out of town again next week (she travels 50%).  It has been at Sony for a month.  She was somewhat miffed at having to go out of town without it.  That's how much she uses it.

Here is what her 'new' (aka refurbed) Sony Reader Touchscreen looks like:

Yours is the longer one (and more expensive too) - WAY KEWL.  You WILL enjoy it immensely.  My wife has for years.
