Is there a formula for calculating the size of a 4:3 image viewed on a 16:9 screen? Specifically, I'm trying to figure out the diagonal dimension of a 4:3 image when viewed on the KLV30XBR900 screen.

Thanks!

The tape works great, but I thought there might be a formula that could be applied to all sizes of screens.

Ray,
Thanks, but that url was redirected to another web site. No help there that I could find.
Thanks again.
Jack

The site I posted is a TV size calculator. It lets you compare the screen size of two sets. You can put in a 30" 16:9 in one side, and anything on the other. On the result page, you'll get the exact dimension of the height and width of your picture if you're watching a 1.33:1, a 1.78:1, a 1.85:1 or a 2.35:1 picture. It's extremely useful.

For example, you want to know the screen size of a 4:3 picture on a 30" 16:9 set, right? This is what I found with that site:

19.6" width, 14.7" height. Equivalent to a 24.5" 4:3 TV, i.e. diagonal.

I believe that's exactly what you're looking for.
