SPIDER-MAN---Sony Pictures is developing three Spider-Man spinoff movies: SILK, NIGHTWATCH and JACKPOT.
Also, VARIETY reports that Sony has the rights to over 900 Marvel characters.

MIDWAY---Dennis Quaid (THE RIGHT STUFF), Aaron Eckhart (THE DARK KNIGHT), Ed Skrein (DEADPOOL) and Nick Jonas (JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE) will co-star in the World War II epic in undisclosed roles.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3---sources say Marvel Studios is making a last ditch effort to get Walt Disney Pictures to rehire James Gunn.

THE BIG BANG THEORY---McCaulay Culkin said he turned down a co-starring role on the series three times which cost him hundreds of millions of dollars, “I couldn’t see myself doing a sitcom or a television show kind of a thing. They pursued me for THE BIG BANG THEORY. And I said, ‘Noooo.’ The way the pitch was, ‘Alright, these two astrophysicist nerds and a pretty girl lives with them. Yoinks!’ That was the pitch. And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m cool, thanks.' Even my manager was, like, twisting my arm."
He added, “I’d have hundreds of millions of dollars right now if I did that gig. At the same time, I’d be bashing my head against the wall.”

BLADE RUNNER---the saga of Sean Young's reputation for erratic behavior continues. The New York Police Department is seeking Young for questioning in the theft of two laptops after she was caught on a surveillance video with one of the laptops.

LIVING WITH YOURSELF---Paul Rudd stars in this Netflix comedy series about a man who undergoes treatment to improve himself and finds he is being replaced by his improved self.

JAMES BOND---a British tabloid claims that producer Barbara Brocccoli told director Antoine Fuqua that "it is time" to have a minority play James Bond and it "will happen eventually". Fuqua recommended Idris Elba for the 007 role.

TRIVIA---in THE TERMINATOR, Paul Winfield (Lieutenant Traxler) says, "Yo momma." to Lance Henriksen (Detective Vukovich).

Johansson left the movie due to the backlash. Walt Disney Pictures has not confirmed the character is gay.

EVE---writer/director Matthew Newton left the Jessica Chastain movie after allegations were made of assault and domestic violence.

FATALE---Hillary Swank stars in the movie about a female police detective who seduces a man into a murder plot.

FOX---Fox is developing tv series based on the movies NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID and ICE AGE.

TRAIN TO BUSAN 2---South Korean director Yeon Sang-Ho announced a sequel is underway to his 2016 zombie movie, “The film will revisit the same zombie virus that was seen in the original movie, except this time the focus will be expanded to the entire Korean peninsula.”

KNIGHTFALL---History renewed the series for Season 2 and announced that Mark Hamill has joined the cast as Talus, a Knight Templar veteran of the Crusades who trains new Knights.
Hamill said he offered advice to a young Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Arnold Schwarzenegger asked me for advice when he was just starting out. I told him to lose his accent for a wider range of roles & to change his last name since no one could pronounce it. He did the opposite & became one of the biggest stars EVER".

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS---Evangeline Lilly said she used her LOST connections, probably with producer Bryan Burk and director JJ Abrams, to try to get the role of Leia in the sequel, "I wanna be Leia! Make me Leia!" However, she was told Carrie Fisher was returning for the role.

WHITE LIES---Benecio Del Toro stars in this Oliver Stone movie about a divorced man who meets a woman who leads him on a journey of rediscovery.

THE SUPER---Val Kilmer and John Fluegel star in this movie about the new ex-cop/superintendent of a luxury New York apartment building who investigates the mysterious disappearances of several tenants and suspects the maintenance man is involved.

WOLF HOUND---James Maslow (SEQUESTERED) and Trevor Donovan (90210) star in this World War II movie in which a a US and a German fighter pilot shoot each other down. After bailing out, they continue their duel on the ground.

ALRIGHT NOW---Cobie Smulders stars in this comedy movie about a drunk rock star who enrolls in college after she and her boyfriend and her band break up. She's shocked to discover her fellow students don't know or care who she is.

DEVILS---Patrick Dempsey and Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Borghi star in this ten-part miniseries base on the novel about an international financial war.

PRODIGY---Netflix/Mark Millar series underway based on the upcoming comic book.

BATWOMAN---Ruby Rose, who describes herself as being "gender fluid", deleted her Twitter account after gay activists complained she isn't gay enough to play lesbian Batwoman in the new tv series.

TRIVIA---Marvin Miller was a famous voice-over actor whose credits include movies such as FORBIDDEN PLANET and MASH and tv credits including THE F.B.I. and POLICE SQUAD!

WESTWORLD---executive producer Jonathan Nolan talked about changes for Season 3, “I think it’s a radical shift. What’s compelling and appealing about these characters is that they’re not human. As we said in the show, humans are bound by the same loops the hosts are, in some ways even smaller. You couldn’t expect human characters to withstand and survive the kind of story that we’re telling. The hosts have a different version of mortality, a different outlook. I think clearly with Dolores, as she’s laid out, there is a longer view here, a larger set of goals."

LITTLE WOMEN---Laura Dern is in talks to co-star with Meryl Streep in the movie based on the novel.

LADY AND THE TRAMP---Tessa Thompson (THOR: RAGNAROK) is in negotiations to provide the voice for Lady in the Walt Disney Pictures live-action/CGI remake of the 1955 animated movie.

CASTLE ROCK---Hulu renewed the series for Season 2.

FASTEST CAR---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---the conspiracy movie CAPRICORN ONE starred both of Barbra Streisand's husbands: Elliott Gould and James Brolin.

STAR WARS---production designer Neil Lamont said a Tatooine-set spinoff movie was underway, but Lucasfilm cancelled it after the disappointing SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, "We were just starting our work on another Star Wars spinoff and yeah. We were actually just making our mark on Tatooine -- which would have been interesting and some other new galaxies. So hopefully, if that comes back, we'll get the chance to be able to do that further."

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT---Jack Nicholson has left the Kristen Wiig/Paramount Pictures remake of TONI ERDMAN.

SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE---Nicolas Cage commented on playing Spider-Man Noir in the animated movie, “I tried to channel those noir films with Bogart, and have those kinds of sounds that he might make with Cagney, or Edward G. Robinson, that kind of way of talking. I tried to give the character that. It was a lot of fun. I think it should be quite funny. The movie definitely has a sense of humor, and that’s a good thing because it’s good for the whole family.”

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3---VARIETY reports that Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige have agreed that James Gunn will not be rehired for VOL. 3. However, they might use Gunn's script for the sequel.

GAME OF THRONES---Nikolaj-Coster Waldau commented on the series finale, “I read it, and I wrote [creators] Dan [“D.B.” Weiss] and David [Benioff] and said I don’t think they could have done a better job...I’ve spent so many years working on this and been guessing and trying to figure out how this will end — and when I read it, some of the parts of it I’d get, and other parts of it were just completely shocking and surprising.”
He added, “And it wasn’t, there were none of those horrible — you know shows where it’s a murder mystery and at the very last minute you find out it doesn’t make sense? But here all the pieces fit into this massive jigsaw puzzle.”

TRIVIA---in STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, the Battle of the Mutara Nebula, in which the USS Enterprise duels the USS Reliant, is based on the movie THE ENEMY BELOW in which a Navy destroyer escort duels a German U-boat.

In THE WRATH OF KHAN, the USS Enterprise and Captain Kirk (William Shatner) battle the USS Reliant and Khan (Ricardo Montalban).

THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS---TNT miniseries underway based on the sequel novel to THE ALIENIST. Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning will return. The plot involves Sara Howard, now a private detective, who seeks help from Dr. Laszlo Kreizler in locating Ana Linares, the kidnapped daughter of a Spanish dignitary.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS---sources say Tom Cruise was the lead candidate to play Hal Jordan, but withdrew because Jordan is killed off and Cruise wanted him to remain alive. However, Cruise may still be the lead candidate for the role. Christopher McQuarrie, a frequent Cruise collaborator, was earlier mentioned as a candidate to direct the movie.

THE TIME MACHINE---Sky is developing a tv series based on the HG Wells novel. Nick Payne (THE CROWN) is the writer. The original 1960 movie starred Rod Taylor.

AVENGERS---director Peyton Reed wants Evangeline Lilly to star in a Wasp-led all female avengers movie, "I’d like her running things. I’d like to see her as the head of the all-female Avengers. I know Evangeline sort of said ... maybe that would be Captain Marvel, because she does have the word 'captain' in her name. But I think Hope van Dyne is a very decisive leader and a tactician, in addition to being a brilliant scientist. So she checks a lot of boxes in terms of who’s going to be running the Avengers, theoretically."

THE TOMMYKNOCKERS---Universal Pictures movie underway based on the Stephen King novel. Jeremy Slater (THE EXORCIST tv series) will write the script.

BLUMHOUSE PRODUCTIONS---Jason Blum said, "Chances are excellent" that Blumhouse Productions will acquire rights to other horror movies as it did with the new HALLOWEEN sequel. Blum said it passed on a remake of Steve McQueen's THE BLOB and tried to get Stephen King's CHRISTINE. He hopes to get the rights to FRIDAY THE 13TH.

LOST---Carlton Cuse said if ABC reboots LOST, he will not be involved, but offered suggestions on a reboot, "Damon [Lindelof] and I have always been adamant that we told the story that we wanted to tell. I would be fine if ABC hired somebody who 
had a good idea [to reboot it] involving other characters that go to the island at some other point 
in time. I would be less excited if they wanted to use the characters that we had in our show."

TREADSTONE---USA Network tv series underway which is a spinoff of the Jason Bourne movies. The series focuses on Operation Treadstone which trains superspy sleeper agents.

SEXY BEAST---prequel tv series underway to the 2000 gangster movie that starred Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone and Ian McShane.

VAMPYR---tv series underway based on the video game. McG is the director/executive producer.

THE ROYALS---E! cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---in KELLY'S HEROES, the SS captain killed by Kelly (Clint Eastwood) is often listed as a cameo by Yves Montand, but in reality he is played by character actor David Gross.

RAMBO 5---reportedly, Adrian Grunberg (GET THE GRINGO) will direct the sequel.

SUPERHERO---Denzel Washington said he has never been approached by Marvel Studios or DC Films about appearing in a superhero movie, "I haven’t been approached… we’ll see what happens. Never say never."
Bruce Campbell gave his opinion on actors in superhero movies, "That's Sam Raimi all the way. Big blockbuster movies, whenever I see an actor get cast in one of those, I wince, because I go, 'Oh, that poor son of a bitch is going to be in that suit for 10 years.' If shooting schedule's seven months of shooting, you get your one month in the Bahamas, and then you're promoting for three months, then you go right back to the next sequel, back in that same f-cking suit.'"
He added, "My only beef with superheroes is that they're not flawed enough. Oh, Superman's got Kryptonite. Well, what the hell's Kryptonite? I don't know what that means. Give me Ash, the guy could be, he's a gas station attendant, you know? The guy's Mr. Nobody."

THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS THING---Asia Argento, who claimed producer Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her, paid $380,000 to actor Jimmy Bennett after he filed a sexual battery lawsuit for $3.5 million against her in which he alleged that she gave him alcohol to drink, performed oral sex on him and then climbed on top of him for sexual intercourse when he was 17 years old in a California Ritz-Carlton hotel in 2013. The California age of consent is 18. Bennett was four years old when he played Argento's son in the 2004 movie THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS. Bennett also played the young James T. Kirk in the 2009 JJ Abrams STAR TREK reboot movie.
Argento is the daughter of Italian writer/director Dario Argento.

WHAT/IF---Renee Zellweger stars in this Netflix series in which each season deals with, “the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things”.

NETFLIX---cancelled THE BREAK WITH MICHELLE WOLF and THE JOEL McHALE SHOW WITH JOEL McHALE. It renewed ONE DAY AT A TIME for Season 3.

THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD---Peter Jackson documentary on World War I uses colorized, 3D archival film footage from the Imperial War Museum and original audio from the BBC. Jackson said, "I wanted to reach through the fog of time and pull these men into the modern world, so they can regain their humanity once more rather than be seen only as Charlie Chaplin-type figures in the vintage archive film. THOR---Chris Hemsworth commented on the movies, “The first one is good, the second one is meh. What masculinity was, the classic archetype – it just all starts to feel very familiar. I was so aware that we were right on the edge.”

MR. ROBOT---Christian Slater said Season 4 will probably be the last season, “[Creator Sam Esmail] always said it was going to be somewhere in that zone, and he didn’t want to go further than what he could creatively contribute to that storyline. So, I think that Season four will be it. I think they’re in the writers’ room, as we speak, putting it all together, but I have no idea what it’s gonna be, or if I’m gonna be floating in and out of scenes. I have no idea, so we’ll see what happens.”
Rami Malek added, “He’s always said maybe four or five, and that is still pending in his head. I’ll tell you that I’m sure the studio would love to see it go for as long as it could, but he’s restrained. He’s got a story to tell, so I’m all for whatever he wants to do."

DORA THE EXPLORER---Eva Longoria will play Dora's mother in the movie.

TRIVIA--in the 1955 sci fi movie TARANTULA, the giant tarantula is killed when US Air Force jet fighters drop napalm on it. The fighters are led by Clint Eastwood in an early, uncredited role.
Eastwood became friends with TARANTULA's female lead, Mara Corday, who later was Miss October, 1958 in PLAYBOY. When Eastwood became an international star, he had Corday appear in SUDDEN IMPACT as the waitress who set up the classic "Go ahead, make my day." scene. Corday also appeared in other Eastwood movies including THE GAUNTLET, PINK CADILLAC and THE ROOKIE.

CRAZY RICH GIRLFRIEND---sequel to CRAZY RICH ASIANS is underway based on the sequel novel with director Jon M. Chu returning.

DOOM PATROL---Brendan Fraser will provide the voice for Robotman.

SUPERGIRL---Bruce Boxleitner replaces Brent Spiner as the Vice President after Spiner left due to a schedule conflict.

SLICE---comedy horror movie about a werewolf/ex-Chinese food delivery guy who investigates the bizarre murders of pizza delivery boys. Chance the Rapper and Zazie Beetz star.

YOU ARE MY FRIEND---Chris Cooper will co-star with Tom Hanks in the movie about Fred "Mr. Rogers" Rogers.

THE ELEPHANT MAN---Charlie Heaton (STRANGER THINGS) stars in this BBC One two-part miniseries based on Joseph Merrick, the Elephant Man.

TRIVIA---French actress/singer Claudine Longet appeared in many tv series and was married to singer Andy Williams. She was convicted of negligent homicide in the shooting death of her boyfriend, former Olympic skier Spider Sabich.
