Here's the upgraded 14ga. power cord & Leviton plug, also a couple before & after shots of the copper shielding upgrades.

Have you observed a benefit from the copper shielding added?

Not as much as the upgraded power cord as of yet, but i'm not finished as i still have the top cover to add the copper shielding to. When i open my X7ESD & all u see is copper, i figure it can't hurt as an upgrade!

Great looking job on the copper shielding.  It looks like you are cutting the shielding to exact panel size.

The sheilding does look great. I'd like to know more like where you got it, applied etc. I'm considering trying it on an amp I have._mykl

Hey:

i get the shielding tap from a local electronics shop & i believe its called (3M) EMI shielding tape. They cut it into 12" x 6" lengths for me. It isn't cheap at $9.00 a pop & depending on the size of your amp, it could get costly! Maybe check ebay as well.
I always cut carefully to the panel i'm applying it to & most time i'll measure 3-4 times just to be sure! I never toss out any leftovers as its always good for finishing the trim around the top of cd players were the top cover mounts to the player body.
I simply start at 1 end & use the bank card/credit card method & it always gives great results. I recommend going slow becuase it is very tacky & high strength, if removed it will wrinkle really bad....as i've found out :-).

Johhnycanso_Thanks for the info! I think it'll be a better choice for what I intend that what I have to use. I have some copper backed (front?) damping material that I've used in some of my components. It's like DynaMat but with copper instead of aluminum. But for what I intend it's not quite what I'm after. Thus the reason for my interest in what you used. I'll check into the tape. Thanks again._mykl

Can't be a bad thing adding another 608ESD to the stable right? :)
