Scott- Looking at these pictures proves that you must have spent a lot of time setting up the DA 5000ES and testing it.

It has been quite a road...

But a road less travelled...  Well you know...

Hey Maxx, if you are refering to the analog audio interconnects, those are from Radio Shack. I'm pretty sure since I have their component video cables and are the same design with the gold.

I thought they might be Radio Shack Gold series. I have a Radio Shack RF coax cable that I use for my Terk FM antenna hooked up to my Sony DB 930 that looks somewhat similar to those Analog interconnects.

Maxx,

Sorry my reply is so late...

Yes they are mostly Radio Shack Gold Series...

I thought we discussed this, maybe in a different forum?

I bought a whole lot of these Radio Shack Gold Interconnects from a fella on eBay... I now have way more than what I will ever use and I use a lot...

Better to keep them for the price I paid, these seem to work well...

Better than what I had before and not as good as what you may have... But I like them, I will keep them...

Scott- I've heard hundereds of guys swear by Radio Shack Gold Analog cables.

Unless you get an ultra high resolution player I wouldn't worry about getting better Analog interconnects.

You primarily use Toslink Optical interconnect from your Players to your DA4ES anyway don't you?

Yes,

I use Toslink from everything... I am debating switching to Dayton Glass toslink from Parts Express or possibly your guy on eBay (for some reason I can never remember his moniker).

I also need to get a toslink to digital coaxial converter so I can connect my xbox via coaxial (it only has analog and toslink out) because I have run out of toslink inputs on the DA4ES.

The Xbox has the lowest sound priority in my book so, it is just analog now... But it does sound much better with 5.1 via toslink!

Scott- To be honest I have a suspicion that many of these inexpensive Glass Toslink cables are made by the same OEM in China. I've even see them have identical terminations.

The reason I recommend Stuart's Glass Toslink is because he was the first to offer a <$50/meter price two years ago so I started recommending his interconnect. Over the last 2 years he has offered very good customer service and is now charging 1/2 of what he as originally.

As far as a Digital Format converter goes I really like the M-Audio CO2-

http://www.core-sound.com/co2/1.php

It does both:

EIAJ > Electrical coax

Electrical coax > EIAJ

plus it has an outboard power supply for higher quality operation.
