Hi,

Sony launched a model in the late 1990´s that had a fixed pick-up and where the disc was put up-side down with a puck on top.

This would be the CDP-XB920QS and 930QS. Do you have any feedback, recommendation for these models?

The SCD-1 SACD should have the same kind of pick-up setup I assume...?
I have heard that the model with this feature was established to compete with players in quite higher price levers and it seems to be a model looking for?

Hi,

It might be a model that never was offered in the US with the same name?

We found a Sony CDP-XB930QS with this technology that my father both last week!

It seems to sound just fab and the price seemed quite ok spending 300 US$

It has a nice quality feel to it but I found the sound to be kind of on the forward/sharp side. Cd text function is nice and the remote works with cdp-x  es models, even the variable output volume.
