Unfortunately, I don't have access to information on that model.  Sorry.

That's okay, I managed to figure out how to get into service mode by trial and error, it was frustrating but worth it in the end!!

Hello.

I'd just like to ask if the service mode shows an on-screen user interface that you work with or do you need to know more information to work with the LCD display?

playing around with mine, I managed to get the display to show " 5 " but nothing came on the screen.

That was by starting the machine up holding two front buttons. I think it was play and stop. Can't remember.

All what you need is in my post on another forum here  its mostly the newer model but i will update the page over the weekend to include additional info and put extracts of the service manuals there for older models.

Hi Dan, or Mr_Mod or anybody, can you tell me how to get into the Service Menu on the RDR-HXD860. My box displays HDD Error, but I'm hoping its simply lost sight of the HDD and that I can find an option to get the box to recognise the drive again - it has many hours of recordings I'd like to rescue!

I looked at Mr_Mod's other thread but couldn't find a service manual for the HXD860 model . . .

Thanks

A common cause of this error is the SATA cable, try replacing it and let us know how it goes, if it does not fix it then i will see what else i can dig up.

Hi, I would like to replace my hard drive.
Has anyone any links to how to do the job or even first hand experience :
eg
what drive to get and then how to get the system to accept the newdrive, any hints on how to pull the old data of onto the new drive.
Why would the
SATA
cable be faulty? as all it is is a mechanical connection that is etherconnect correctly or it isn't and there are no moving or
volatile
parts?
