JAMES BOND---Cary Fukunaga (TRUE DETECTIVE) will direct the 25th James Bond movie. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said, “We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure."

STAR WARS---The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said Lucasfilm will slow down its original plan to release a STAR WARS movie every year, "I made the timing decision, and as I look back, I think the mistake that I made — I take the blame — was a little too much, too fast. You can expect some slowdown, but that doesn't mean we're not gonna make films. J.J. [Abrams] is busy making [EPISODE] IX. We have creative entities, including [GAME OF THRONES] creators [David] Benioff and [D.B.] Weiss, who are developing sagas of their own, which we haven't been specific about. And we are just at the point where we're gonna start making decisions about what comes next after J.J.'s. But I think we're gonna be a little bit more careful about volume and timing. And the buck stops here on that."

JURASSIC PARK---Jeff Goldblum said he successfully persuaded Steven Spielberg not to remove his character, Dr. Ian Malcolm, from the original movie's script, "When I first met Mr. Spielberg... he said, 'You know, there's a movie a-foot... the screenplay won't include your character from the book... When you scheduled this meeting it was still in, now maybe out?"
Goldblum added, "Spielberg, Spielberg, come to your senses!' I didn't say that but words to that effect." Spielberg reconsidered and kept Malcolm in the script.

DOCTOR SLEEP---Bruce Greenwood will play Dr. John in the sequel to THE SHINING. Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson also star.

THE WALKING DEAD---AMC plans to develop a THE WALKING DEAD franchise including theatrical movies and an international tv series. AMC is in talks with other companies to form a franchise partnership. Former showrunner Scott Gimple is in charge of the franchise plans.

MARVEL SUPERHEROES---ABC is developing a Marvel one hour, all-female superhero tv series which will probably feature "lesser known" characters. Allan Heinberg (WONDER WOMAN) is the writer.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE---Chevy Chase commented on his former tv show by saying he was "amazed" that his former boss, Lorne Michaels, had "gone so low." Chase added, "That means a whole generation of sh*theads laughs at the worst f*cking humor in the world."

SPACE JAM 2---Warner Bros. sequel featuring LeBron James and Bugs Bunny is underway to the 1996 movie that featured Michael Jordan.

MILK---movie underway based on the short film about a teenage boy who goes for milk in the kitchen, encounters his overbearing mother and discovers reality is not what it seems.

MASTER CHEF---Fox renewed the series for Season 10.

TRIVIA---sisters Kate Mara (HOUSE OF CARDS) and Rooney Mara (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) come from a pro football heritage. Their mother's family founded the Pittsburgh Steelers, and their father's family founded the New York Giants. Their uncle, Art Rooney II, is the owner and president of the Steelers. Their other uncle, John Mara, is the CEO of the Giants.

JAMES BOND---a rumor claims Henry Cavill is a candidate to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Cavill was reportedly a top contender to play Bond in CASINO ROYALE, but was considered too young which led to Craig getting the role.

JOHN CLARK---Michael B. Jordan (CREED) will star as CIA agent John Clark in two Paramount Pictures movies based on Tom Clancy novels, RAINBOW SIX and WITHOUT REMORSE. Willem Dafoe played Clark in CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, and Liev Schreiber played Clark in THE SUM OF ALL FEARS.

PRINCE OF DARKNESS---John Carpenter hinted he is in talks with Shudder streaming service for a tv series based on his 1987 horror movie, “We’re talking to them about doing a theme, and maybe doing a show for them. What would you think about PRINCE OF DARKNESS as a tv show?” He then added, “Well, maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know."
The movie starred Donald Pleasence and Jameson Parker.

NETFLIX---Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will star in a Netflix sci fi movie, but no plot details were released.

RESIDENT ALIEN---Alan Tudyk will star as Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle in the Syfy pilot based on the comic book.

DIABLO---Andrew Cosby (HELLBOY) tweeted he is writing a Netflix animated series based on the video game, “I guess I can confirm I am indeed in final talks to write and show-run the new DIABLO animated series for Activision and Netflix. It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out."

DEFENDING JACOB---Chris Evans stars in this Apple tv miniseries based on the novel about a man who defends his 14 year-old son after he has been accused of murder.

STARGIRL---Brec Bassinger will star in the DC streaming service series.

THE RIFTWAR SAGA---tv series underway based on the fantasy novels. Kurt Johnstad (ATOMIC BLONDE) is the writer.

THE DEUCE---HBO renewed the series for Season 3 which will be the last season.

SWITCH---Fox series underway about a female scientist who invents body-transfer technology for the FBI Switch Division which would transfer undercover agents into another person's body, but the only agent who volunteers to test it is a burned-out undercover agent.

NO GOOD NICK---Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin star in this Netflix comedy about a married couple who bring a teenage girl into their family and discover she is really a con artist.

DIETLAND---AMC cancelled the series.

VERONICA MARS---Kristen Bell confirmed she is returning for the Hulu revival series.

Rogan, described by friends as "dangerous to know", was supposedly the inspiration for Diana Scott, the main character in John Schlesinger's DARLING which starred Julie Christie, Dirk Bogarde and Laurence Harvey. Scott was described as being, "amoral, rootless, emotionally immature, and apparently irresistible". Christie won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Scott.
After her death at age 84 in 2015, home-grown cannabis was found drying in her cupboard.

MURPHY BROWN---the CBS revival series premiere drew a disappointing 7.4 million viewers even though Hillary Clinton had a cameo.

PICKLE---Seth Rogen will play two roles in this untitled Sony Pictures comedy movie about a worker who falls into a vat of pickle brine which preserves him for a century until he revives in the present day and meets his only surviving family member, a shy computer programmer.

RUTHLESS---CW/Michael Weatherly tv series underway about a retired CIA assassin and a teenage girl who team up to battle dark secrets in their suburb.

NETFLIX---three new sci fi series are underway. I-LAND stars Kate Bosworth as one of ten people who wake up on a dangerous island who don't know who they are or how they got on the island. WARRIOR NUN is about a 19 year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a second chance at life and discovers she is part of a secret order that must battle demons to save mankind. OCTOBER FASHION is based on the comic book about a married couple who are monster hunters and their children in upstate New York who find out their quiet suburb is more than meets the eye.

THE ITALIAN JOB---in the classic car heist movie, the scene where Michael Caine picks up his Aston Martin DB4 in the garage, he is never shown actually driving the convertible because he did not know how to drive at the time.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS---Djimon Hounsou (GLADIATOR) will play one of the Bosleys in the reboot movie. Patrick Stewart will play another Bosley.

LAST MAN STANDING---the Fox premiere of the cancelled ABC sitcom drew an impressive eight million viewers which makes it Fox's most-watched sitcom in almost seven years.

THE WALKING DEAD---Jeffrey Dean Morgan said the series will get a slight reboot after Andrew Lincoln leaves, “Rick Grimes, I think, is synonymous with WALKING DEAD, so it’s a little bit of a reboot for the show — but in a good way.
I really feel positive about that aspect of it, but I tell you, I miss Andy. We all miss Andy. Just his energy and how positive and gung-ho he is, it’s a rare thing and he is an incredible leader. And we feel his loss.”

BLACK MIRROR---Season 5 will premiere in December, 2018, and viewers can interactively choose their own ending.

SWAMP THING---Jennifer Beals will play Sheriff Lucilia Cable in the DC Universe pilot.

Jill St. John was the first American actress to play a Bond Girl, Tiffany Case, in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
In the oil rig scene, Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Charles Gray) sees that Tiffany has hidden a cassette containing deadly satellite control codes in her revealing bikini bottom and comments on it and her low IQ, "Tiffany, my dear, we're showing a bit more 'cheek' than usual, aren't we?...What a pity, such nice 'cheeks', too. If only they were brains."
In fact, St. John has an IQ of 162 and was a student at UCLA when she was only 14 years old. She dropped out of college to pursue an acting career.
On THE TONIGHT SHOW, Truman Capote talked about actors being stupid and St. John's IQ. Johnny Carson said, "Oh c'mon, you can't mean all actors are stupid."

Also, Chief Content Officer Scott Gimple hinted about a "big" announcement, “I work on both shows. I help these gentlemen, I help [THE WALKING DEAD showrunner] Angela Kang. We work on the stories together, I consult on the episodes as they go through, and producing.
And then beyond that, working on the future of THE WALKING DEAD. And per that, we’re gonna have something to discuss. We’re gonna have a family meeting, all of the WALKING DEAD fans — people who haven’t watched the show, people who are going to watch the show — we’re gonna talk about something really big soon.”

INDIANA JONES 5---producer Frank Marshall said the next sequel will return to a global setting like the first three movies and will have Jonathan Kasdan as the lead writer of the "writers room". He also commented on doing the sequel without George Lucas, "I love being with George and having his input, but life changes and we’re moving on. He moved on. STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI---researcher Dr. Morten Bay said in an academic paper on the massive criticism of THE LAST JEDI that there is, “evidence of deliberate, organised political influence measures disguised as fan arguments.”
Bay said the criticism consisted of three groups: politically motivated, trolls and STAR WARS fans who hated the movie. 50.9% of the negative tweets were by "politically motivated or not even human...number of these users appear to be Russian trolls." He said the political criticism of THE LAST JEDI was part of a Russian effort of "further propagating a narrative of widespread discord and dysfunction in American society".

THE PREDATOR---photo released of one of the Emissary Predators who helped mankind defend against an invasion by the Upgrade Predator and hybrid Spider Predators. They were part of the scenes that were deleted in the reshoots.

TRIVIA---Richard Jordan starred in two epic undersea movies based on best-selling novels. Jordan played Dirk Pitt in Clive Cussler's RAISE THE TITANIC. He played National Security Advisor Dr. Jeffrey Pelt in Tom Clancy's THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.

Richard Jordan played Dirk Pitt in the costly RAISE THE TITANIC which bombed at the box office. Producer Lew Grade said, "It would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic!"

STAR WARS---a rumor claims Pedro Pascal (GAME OF THRONES, WONDER WOMAN 1984) will play the "central lead" in the Jon Favreau live-action tv series.
The rumor also says the ten episodes will be directed by five directors including Favreau, Dave Filioni (STAR WARS REBELS) and Alan Taylor (THOR: THE DARK WORLD).
The tv series is codenamed Project Huckleberry which led to speculation that Werner Herzog is involved because earlier he said that he is involved in a big project known as Huckleberry.
The tv series is supposedly set between RETURN OF THE JEDI and THE FORCE AWAKENS and may involve the restoration of Boba Fett's home planet of Mandalore after the Clone Wars.

VENOM---a Buzzfeed News analysis of negative online reviews of VENOM says many of the reviews are by Lady Gaga fans, known as "Little Monsters", who are trying to help Lady Gaga's A STAR IS BORN which premieres the same time as VENOM.
VENOM's Rotten Tomatoes score, based on 41 reviews, is 32%.

GAME OF THRONES---VFX supervisor Joe Bauer confirmed Jon Snow's direwolf, Ghost, is returning for the last season.

THE CHALLENGER---Michelle Williams will star in the biomovie about teacher/astronaut Christina McAuliffe, who died in the 1986 Challenger space shuttle tragedy.
