THE WALKING DEAD---AMC released the synopsis for Season 9.
"Last season brought the culmination of “All Out War,” which pitted Rick Grimes and his group of survivors against the Saviors and their cunning leader, Negan. With Negan’s life in his hands, Rick had a character-defining choice in front of him. By making the unilateral decision to spare Negan, Rick upheld the values of his late son, Carl, championed in order to build for the future, but created conflict within his group.
Now, we see our survivors a year and a half after the end of the war, rebuilding civilization under Rick’s steadfast leadership. It is a time of relative peace among the communities as they work together, looking to the past to forge the future, but the world they knew is rapidly changing as man-made structures continue to degrade, and nature takes over, changing the landscape and creating new challenges for our survivors.
As time passes, the communities confront unexpected obstacles, danger, and of course, walkers, but nothing quite prepares them for the formidable force they are about to encounter, which threatens the very idea of civilization that our survivors have worked so hard to build."

Black issued an apology, “Having read this morning’s news reports, it has sadly become clear to me that I was misled by a friend I really wanted to believe was telling me the truth when he described the circumstances of his conviction. I believe strongly in giving people second chances – but sometimes you discover that chance is not as warranted as you may have hoped. After learning more about the affidavit, transcripts and additional details surrounding Steve Striegel’s sentence, I am deeply disappointed in myself. I apologize to all of those, past and present, I’ve let down by having Steve around them without giving them a voice in the decision.”

We have made changes to the Oscars over the years — including this year — and we will continue to evolve while also respecting the incredible legacy of the last 90 years.”

ASIA ARGENTO---actress Asia Argento has refused to pay the remaining amount from a $380,000 settlement with actor Jimmy Bennett after Bennett filed a lawsuit claiming she sexually assaulted him when he was 17 years-old. Argento's refusal is based on her claim that she was the victim after being sexually assaulted by Bennett. Bennett's lawyer responded, “Asia has yet to realize that successful women can also be among those who prey on the vulnerable. Predators are not limited to a single sex.”

6 UNDERGROUND---co-writer Rhett Reese tweeted his reply about if the Michael Bay/Ryan Reynolds movie is really a ThunderCats movie, "NO".

MARVEL STUDIOS---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said more female superhero movies are underway, “With [ANT-MAN AND THE WASP] and now with CAPTAIN MARVEL and many movies to be announced in the near future, I’m anxious for the time where it’s not a novelty that there is a female-led superhero movie, but it is a norm. And it is less a story of, ‘Oh, look, a female hero,’ and it’s more a story of, ‘Oh, what’s this about? Who’s this character? I’m excited to see that.’ And I think we can get there.”

SWAMP THING---Crystal Reed (GOTHAM, TEEN WOLF) will play the lead female role of CDC researcher Abby in the DC Universe pilot.

However, Duncan's sister, Judy, hired a lawyer to investigate if Omarosa influenced Michael to change his will while he may have been ill to make her the main beneficiary. Judy claimed that Omarosa sold Michael's personal effects including his cars, watches, THE GREEN MILE director's chair and awards without the family's consent.
Omarosa replied, "I don't control the estate or the finances and Judy knows it. If you saw all of her e-mails and texts to me you would see that she is just trying to get money from me, and threatened going to press if I did not give it to her, and that is a crime."

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

KURSK---trailer released for the movie about the sinking of the Russian submarine starring Colin Firth and Lea Seydoux.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xExzwSc4_eQ&t=21s

JAMES BOND---Said Taghmaoui (WONDER WOMAN) said Danny Boyle picked him to be the villain in the 25th James Bond movie and implied he is still involved in the sequel after Boyle left, "We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now. I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.’ It’s the story of my life. Always on that line between something that could change my life and something that disappears."
Earlier reports said Boyle left after Daniel Craig vetoed Boyle's choice of Tomasz Kot as the villain.

Image

STAR TREK: GENERATIONS---William Shatner discussed the much-maligned death of Captain Kirk in GENERATIONS, "Well, I didn’t think I had any choice in the matter. Paramount had decided that the ceiling that they could reach in our box office had been reached and they thought that by putting in the Next Generation cast, that they would reach a higher box office. That decision had been made. It was either I was going to appear and die, or they were going to say he died. So, I chose the more practical of the two."

PREDATOR---Arnold Schwarzenegger had four opportunities to return as Dutch in four PREDATOR sequels.
In PREDATOR 2, Schwarzenegger would have played the head of a government team trying to capture the City Hunter Predator, but he turned down the role because he did not like the city setting and the role was a semi-villain. Producer John Davis said the main reason he rejected the role was due to a salary dispute, not because he was involved in TERMINATOR 2 as others claim. The role eventually went to Gary Busey as team leader Peter Keyes.
In ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, director Paul WS Anderson said Schwarzenegger would have had a cameo if Schwarzenegger lost the California governor's race, but he won which ended the proposed cameo. Anderson gave no details on the cameo.
In PREDATORS, Robert Rodriguez's original script had Schwarzenegger being dropped onto a Predator planet to battle Predators in gladiator-type duels, but Schwarzenegger's being the governor led to a script change in which he only had a cameo in which he emerges from a spaceship with twelve Predators and congratulates the survivors. Again, his governor's duties prevented Schwarzenegger's return.
In Shane Black's THE PREDATOR, Schwarzenegger's cameo was rumored to be at the end of the sequel where he hints the next sequel would have even bigger Predator battles. Schwarzenegger rejected the cameo as being too small of a role.

MEMORY-THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN---a documentary is underway for the 40th anniversary of the ALIEN franchise which focuses on the untold beginning of the original movie by Dan O'Bannon and includes unseen material by O'Bannon and designer HR Giger.

IT: CHAPTER 2---writer Gary Dauberman said the sequel will include the Ritual of Chud from the novel, “The Ritual of Chüd is challenging, but it’s such an important component to the book that we had to address it. That stuff is difficult to balance, but because (director Andy Muschietti, producer Barbara Muschietti and I) worked with each other before, when I’m writing pages and all that stuff it becomes more of a conversation and less like, ‘Hey, here’s what I did.’ It’s sort of organic; it’s really kind of just chipping away at the stone and trying to find the most focused, accessible way into some of more metaphysical aspects of that book.”

SWAMP THING---director Len Wiseman said the Swamp Thing will wear a real costume of being CGI, “It’s going to look amazing and less of the ‘man in suit’ that you’ve seen in the movie and the other TV show”. He said the series will be R-rated, “We always set out to make SWAMP THING as hard R as we could and go graphic with the violence, with the adult themes and make it as scary as possible. Because we’re doing it through the DC streaming service, they really pushed us, although they didn’t have to push hard, for us to go as extreme as we could. We really took our inspiration from the Alan Moore run in SWAMP THING, this landmark I think run. Fans of that series will know it gets pretty weird and extreme and scary.”

RING KING--biomovie underway about Dwayne Johnson's father, Canadian wrestling star Rocky Johnson.

CALL ME BY YOUR NAME---Armie Hammer said a sequel is underway, “It will happen because there are already people working on it and trying to make it happen. How much do I know and how much could I tell you are two very different things. I know a lot, but I can’t tell you anything."

NANCY DREW---CW is developing a tv series based on the murder mystery books.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
In the movie RONIN, three Bond Villains are part of the cast that includes Robert De Niro, Natascha McElhone and Jean Reno.

Michael Lonsdale played Jean-Pierre in RONIN and Bond Villain Hugo Drax in MOONRAKER.

Sean Bean played Spence in RONIN and Bond Villain Alec Trevelyan, Agent 006, in GOLDENEYE.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

THE WALKING DEAD---AMC released a trailer for Rick Grimes' last episodes.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vbF6fSKq7k&t=28s

THE PREDATOR---director Shane Black commented on why Arnold Schwarzenegger turned down a cameo, "The studio wanted a fresher movie that featured an evolving cast. They didn't want to hinge the movie on the re-emergence of Schwarzenegger. It would probably be more of a matter of his showing up briefly and just participating at the very end, at the climax of the movie. Understandably – and believe me, I completely get it – he said, 'Look, that's kind of a small part, and I don't really think I want to do that. I'm off to do TERMINATOR with Jim Cameron, basically. Or for Jim Cameron. So I totally got it, you know? If I was Schwarzenegger, I'd want to be one of the stars of a film or nothing."
Black added, "I even said to him, 'If you're in this one, we would open it up for the sequel, because now you're back in the franchise.’ So you know, if there's another movie, there's no reason why he couldn't be either in it, or the star of it, or whatever someone decides at a future date."

Image

CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND THE BLACK KNIGHT---an unconfirmed inside source claims Marvel Studios wants Guy Ritchie to direct the future Marvel movie that might film in Pinewood Studios, "I work at various movie studios in the UK and have been situated at Pinewood for a few weeks, and I'm moving to Cardiff on a project soon. I haven't seen anything about this online anywhere, so I thought id send the info on to you: Space at Pinewood has been booked for November & December 2018 to hold auditions for a Marvel project called CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND THE BLACK KNIGHT. The name of the director booked in for all these dates is GUY RITCHIE. Marvel seems to be moving fast with it to fill in the space left behind by Danny Boyle's aborted Bond 25. Everyone is excited because it looks like another few months of solid work when we thought we would have to wait a while."

Image

I’d love to do sequels, and I hope we do a sequel and we will do a sequel if the movie performs. We’re not going to decide if we do a sequel or not until we see the reaction to this movie. But I really hope to make it.”

JURASSIC WORLD 3---Bryce Dallas Howard said she wants the next sequel to include cast members from the earlier JURASSIC PARK movies, “In terms of the third movie, the goal overall is to bring the entire saga together. It'll be the sixth film at the end of the day. For me, what I'm most wanting, other than an undercut, is for there to be more characters from the earlier films.” Speculation is that Laura Dern and Sam Neill might return.

Image

STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE---former showrunner Ira Steven Behr talked about his alternate ending for the final episode, "I did pitch to Rick Berman that the final episode would end up with Benny Russell on Stage 17 at Paramount, wandering around the soundstages, realizing that this whole construct, this whole series, that we had done for seven years, was just in Benny’s head. That is how I wanted to end the series. And Rick said 'Does this mean The Original Series was in Benny’s head? Does this mean VOYAGER was in Benny’s head?' I said 'Hey man, I don’t care who is dreaming those shows, I only care about DEEP SPACE NINE and yes, Benny Russell is dreaming DEEP SPACE NINE.' He didn’t go for it."

CANDYMAN---a rumor says Jordan Peele (GET OUT) is in talks to produce a remake of the 1992 horror movie that starred Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen.

TRIVIA---in the US Blu-ray version of EXECUTIVE DECISION, in which Middle Eastern terrorists hijack an airliner, several religious references were deleted from the original movie.

In the scene where the bomb-wearing Arab terrorist enters the London restaurant, the Quran is digitally removed in one scene and cropped off in another scene.

Scenes where the terrorist leader, Nagi Hassan (David Suchet), is praying and holding the Quran were deleted.

SUPERMAN---Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. reportedly ended negotiations for Cavill's future as Superman which means it is unlikely he will return as Superman in any future movies. He was supposed to do a cameo in SHAZAM! but had a schedule problem. A studio source said, "Superman is like James Bond, and after a certain run you have to look at new actors."
However, Cavill's agent contradicted the report by tweeting, "Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. @wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today."

THE BATMAN---Jon Hamm talked about possibly starring in the movie, "It depends on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well... I'd probably fit the suit. I'd have to work out a lot, which I don't love. But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it: why not?"

CURSED---Netflix released the synopsis for the series starring Katherine Langford (13 REASONS WHY) as the Lady of the Lake.

"CURSED, based on the upcoming book of the same name, is a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue. Having said that, I still think the movies were a hit. People don’t look at the subsidiary outlets, like DVD and streaming and whatnot. When you look at what Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor did [on 2012’s GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE] for $50 million, and they got a $250 million return, you begin to see the genius of the sequel."
Cage has said he is not interested in returning for any future GHOST RIDER movies.
