Greetings and welcome. To gain access to the CDRW drive you must remove the keyboard and you will be able to remove the scres securing the CDRW drive and slide it out of the case.

To remove the keyboard try this:
Turn off the power, disconnect the power cord and remove the battery. You only need to remove one screw on the back of the laptop. Turn the computer upside down. Remove the screw that is located near the top (hinge side) and is in the center on the back of the computer. Turn the computer back over so that your looking at the keyboard. Place your fingers behind the top row of keys (toward the screen) and gently lift off the key board and let it lay upside down near the touch pad. Then gently remove the ribbon cable from the laptop.

If that doesn't work try prying off the speaker cover and removing the screw that secures the keyboard and then lift the keyboard out of place.

I am not sure which procedure works on your V505 but one of them should. Good luck.
