This Forum is questions on any installation you could have with your Sony computer system (i.e. How to install, what wires go to where, what drivers need to be installed, etc...)

markhawksby,

Greetings and welcome.
Have you tried polishing the restore disks to remove the scratch. Sometimes a good cleaning will work magic. Check out THIS site.

I fully appreciate the urgency you feel to recover the pictures of your daughter but if you have already wiped the hard drive with what I assume a format the pictures are gone. There are companies that can retrieve data from a formatted hard drive but it is very costly and not 100% certain.

Please post back with the details in hopes we can help.

markhawksby,

In addition to the site I gave you yesterday, http://www.pcrecoverycd.com/, there are also two other good sites to check, http://www.myrecoverycds.com/sonySets.html and http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp.
