Upgrading Hard Drive to a PCG-Z1WAP

This Forum is questions on any installation you could have with your Sony computer system (i.e. How to install, what wires go to where, what drivers need to be installed, etc...)

Hi.

If anyone needs the Service Manual for the PCG-Z1WAP, I have it. Just ping me.

neuronpetkowski,

A very generous offer to share the service manual. Please let us know how your hard drive replacement goes or if you find any tricks in replacing it. Best of luck.

Just a word of caution. There are a ton of screws to remove and they are all different sizes. I would tape them near the location where you remove them from so you remember where to put them back!

tank_bmb,

Excellent advice. Unless one is very familiar with which screw goes where it is a good idea to follow you taping the screws in the area where they were removed.
I will sometimes use a legal pad and draw a rough sketch of the laptop and tape the screws to the paper with arrows pointing to where each length of screw goes. It avoids not only trial and error but also eliminates the chance of having left over screws when your done.

richardm2005,

Greetings and welcome.

This thread is the only posts that neuronpetkowski has on the forum and it has been since April of last year. You might want to try sending  a PM (private message) to his "Inbox" here at Agoraquest requesting the service manual. The "Inbox" is located on the column to the left, down at the bottom where it shows "Who's Online".  Don't forget to include your email address.

Hopefully, he spot your post or PM and you will be able to take him up on his generous offer.

Joe

Apologies Richard, but it has been a while and I've disposed of this machine as well as the service manual.
