Welcome to Agoraquest!  I suggest that you go to the "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony  Products" forum and read the 'Television Troubleshooting Information Packages" thread for instructions on how to obtain the "Lamp door warped and possible no power condition/KDFxxWE655, KFxxWE610, KFxxWE620" information package.  It shows you where the thermal fuse is located and what to replace it with.

Just submitted request to jehill for the SB.  Glad to find this site.  I've had this tv for nearly 5 years, moved to 5 different homes and never an issue until tonight.

Thanks in advance.

Mr Hill,  I was able to locate the thermal fuse and ohmed the fuse and it was "not" open and then I checked the voltage on it and got a reading of 5.17 vdc.   on both leads. Sounds to me like the fuse and voltage to it is okay> do you agree?
Just for fun I checked the leads going to the lamp cover switch and got zero volts on both of those leads.  Anyhow, I
I'm in need of your expertise sir...
Thank You

FYI, six blinks means, "Low B error".  the probable cause listed is as follows:

- No "DD 6V" output (GM board)

Apparently, that's usually caused by the Lamp Thermal Fuse blowing, because the following service bulletin switches to a different style and location:

Document Reference/Event ID: E29102171
Model: KDF55XS955, KDF60XS955, KDFE55A20, KDFE60A20
Subject: No power RED Standby LED flashes 6 times

SYMPTOMS
No power: Standby LED flashes RED 6 times

RESOLUTION
Found Thermal fuse is Open.
Replace Lamp Thermal Fuse to different style and location (See attached for details)

The SB includes the necessary procedure and replacement fuse part number.  Apparently, you didn't go to an authorized Sony servicenter, because if you did, they should have been able to look up this SB.

The thermal fuse isn't actually a fuse.  It's a bi-metallic temperature switch.  Even though you measured continuity through it, it still may open at too low of a temperature, i.e. the set-point is off.  I am not sure what the voltage should be at the switch, but 5.17 (~5) VDC may be normal.
