We've come a long way, baby.
Anyone remember the size and weight of the battery pack that was used to power the Video 8 cam??  I do, and it was held in a seperate shoulder strap holster and probably could have started a motor cycle.

Hi Joe

I'm not familiar with the video 8 power pack, but I can attest to the HVC 2200 power unit.  It consisted of the SL2000 beta recorder and battery pack; vinal shoulder strap carrying case extra.

If you purchased the matching TT2200 tuner, you had a mono beta recorder.

Lines of resolution on the camera was limited by the recorder, which was around 250.  SuperBeta extended lines to 270-280, Hi-8 was 380-440 while EDBeta approached 500.

Click here and page halfway down for the photos.
