I have a Sony TRV18E Mini DV camcorder which has the steadyshot function.

Looking through my user manual it dont say if it is 'Super Steadyshot' or plain old normal 'steadyshot'

If I check any specs online I do however find this :

Image Stabiliser: Electronic (Super Steady Shot)

Now for the questions :

Does the TRV18E camcorder have super steadyshot ?

If so, is it Electronic or Optical ?

Will picture quality suffer when the steadyshot function is used on this model ?  ( I'm aware the new super steadyshot products dont effect quality regardless of being optical or digital )

Many thanks.

It does have Super Steady Shot and should be electronic. I doubt the picture quality will suffer when the steady shot feature is on.

Super Steady Shot Picture Stabilization
This advanced version of Sony's SteadyShot system controls an even higher range of shake and vibration freguencies, to achieve an even higher level of smoothness without degradation of video.
