What cable needed: Old Video8 to MiniDV?

Hi... I am totally confused about cables.

I have an old Sony HandyCam Video 8 (8mm) model CCD-F402, circa 1990.

I want to convert the old HandyCam's 8mm tapes to MiniDV (not Hi8 because I have old film movies being converted to MiniDV -- want to stay with MiniDV format and edit on my Mac)

My old HandyCam manual says the cable needed to connect to a TV is a VMC-920MS.

Can I connect the HandyCam to a MiniDV camcorder with this?
or to an Analog to Digital Converter such as the Canopus?
