It just doesn't make sense that Sony would engineer a product that would require a service call to open a disc door.

I have successfully recorded many discs on my new DCR-DVD300. Recently I created one using the Pixela ImageMixer software. I think it corrupted the disc because when I try to eject it the Green Open light never comes on. I tried everything recommended by Sony but to no avail. To my dismay I found that there is no manual override for the disc door and had to send it in for repair. $210 to Open the Door. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem. It just doesn't make sense that Sony would engineer a product that would require a service call to open a disc door.
