I bought the SSX70ED's (X4),

I bought the SSX70ED's (X4), the SSCNX70ED a couple weeks ago. I must say, VERY IMPRESSED! I've been selling HT gear for 6 years now, and these are the only speakers that have impressed me enough to make me spontaneously buy them. I am using them with an energy ES12-XL sub, and these blow the pants ...

Does anyone have the AVDS50

Does anyone have the AVDS50 or C70? Has anyone compared the two to a "traditional" ES receiver? Any thoughts? I am curious since Sony seems to be moving to the new "digital amps".

Everybody now...

the thing is great!!! Only problem.... Many

the thing is great!!!

Only problem....

Many people expect this unit to replace a mega CD changer, allowing them to randomly play songs from any artist in any order. Unfortunately, you can only "shuffle" songs within one album at a time. You can't have true "random" playback.
<...

Unfortunately, Mega CD changers aren't

Unfortunately, Mega CD changers aren't the most reliable things in the world. I have seen many have problems (shuffling discs is a killer!!) Sony changers are probably one of the most reliable versus other brands. Generally, with this technology, you must be patient. I am sure that the techs are doi...

Just curious if anyone knows

Just curious if anyone knows why the MicroMV cameras are not compatible with Macs (or are they?). 1394, MPEG2, why no workie? Any ideas/thoughts would be grrreat! We have some explaining to do to customers, and some "ammo" would be good to help explain.
Thanks!

Be sure that the Receiver

Be sure that the Receiver is on and connected via RS232 when the PC is powered up. I used 98SE to do the upgrade & it worked great.

As for what it does... Well... RB? how did it work?

What version of Windows are

What version of Windows are you using? Did you try the different COM ports? (COM1, COM2 etc.) Try changing the port speed (you may have a slower UART (?) speed). Check in windows if perhaps your serial port is disabled. We tried a computer running Win2000 - it didn't work. 98 did.

Is is a panasonic DVD

Is is a panasonic DVD player? I had the same problem many times with a DVDA-310 model. I changed to a Sony DVPS360 unit, and the problem dissappeared. I recently tried my new Panasonic DVD-RP91 with my old Yamaha receiver, and had the same problem occur at times. I have not had the problem on any of...

The DA3 and DA5 were

The DA3 and DA5 were the only ES Receivers from 2001. There was the DB870 and DB1070 to suppliment the ES line (under their "QS" name). The DA1ES was introduced the same time as the DA2ES, 4ES, and 7ES. Unfortunately, the 1ES is now discontinued, with the 2ES, 4ES, and 7ES to be carried thru for a s...

Oh... And get the 1ES. It's ES!!!

Oh...

And get the 1ES.

It's ES!!! (DB, really), better parts, and it isn't made of plastic.

The extra features that the 985 has don't make up for the better build and sound quality you'll get from the DA1. Plus the warranty, which is 5 yrs in the states (3 in Canada - darn...
